Most definitions of "truth" and "proof" would support that they cannot be refuted. The problem, of
course, is too often the things we label as "truth" or "proof" fail to live up to the test, and that
isn't a negation of those concepts - it's a revelation of our own human failings to meet the
standards.
And I do like ur_wrong's point that if you're guilty of a crime then stating the truth surely won't
set you free. |
