Water is life that's all there is to it, with out water the human race would die very quickly and
all life on earth would become extinct just because something is in abundance does not mean we
should every take it for granted. |

I totally agree, if we didn't have water, we'd be dead within a couple of days, because without
water our bodies can't function.

Definitely, it's is important, and always has been to sustain life. |

Yes, but I'm not coming at it from the "God" told me standpoint. Speaking scientifically, less than
5% of all the water in the world is fresh water and most of that is frozen in the poles. The
various fresh water sources around the world are already badly polluted to various degrees. We have
technologies which can purify quite a bit but they're not nearly at the scale to meet all our needs.
Water has said to be the new "oil" for this next century. |

Of course. This sort of goes without saying. Without water, nothing living would be able to survive.
Every single, living, breathing organism on the face of the Earth needs water or it will die. 75%
of the human body is made up of water.
I do also agree that we need to stop polluting our water. We need to take care and preserve the
water that we have. It does not take much to eliminate waste properly. We need to stop dumping it
into our water supply. |

Yes water is very precious on this earth. |

I totally agree that CLEAN water is very precious~ |

I absolutely agree with this. Every single second in the world is using water in many ways such as
cleaning, bathing, drinking and lots more. Just imagine one day, the whole world is out of water or
the water been polluted, many things can't be done nor continue. So, water is really precious &
important. |

The first sentence of Hidell's comment is why I am voting no. The rest I think is seriously dodgy. |

Water is the most common, and therefore least precious, thing on this planet. In fact, there is far
too much of it. We are the dominant species. We are land dwellers. Yet we have to put up with a
planet three quarters of which is water? That is ridiculous. We should try and change the
proportions of land and water on the planet to ones more befitting our status as the dominant
species.
We should develop geo-engineering techniques and use them to transform the surface of the Earth to
50% water and 50% land. After that, we can take stock and see if we want to go further. This would
also help solve the problem of overpopulation on Earth. Indeed, the problem of overpopulation is
being looked at in the wrong way by most people. It is not a problem of too many people. It is a
problem of too much water. The water takes up the land the people should be living on.
Water is a threat to us. Because of its massive extent and depth, it is hard for us to scan it
properly for threats. It's possible that a new dominant species could evolve in the murky depths of
the ocean then come up and conquer us. Sooner or later, the aquatic threat is going to have to be
dealt with, perhaps after the War on Terror is over. |
