Without a doubt. And a LOTR marathon is going to get longer with the Hobbit film coming out and
apparently a film to shove in between the hobbit and fellowship of the ring. LOTR marathon will take
like a week by the end of it all. |

Yes. I loved the first Matrix, but the others simply didn't live up. However, all of the Lord of the
Rings films are excellent. |

In my opinion. |

This is really more argument material than a debatable premise; that having been said, I am a major
fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's work, and Peter Jackson did a wonderful job directing the movies. The cast
was incredible. That isn't to say that the Matrix movies weren't just as good. It really comes down
purely to a matter of opinion on this one. Nothing really to debate. |

I totally agree only because of the last Matrix movie. That was quite a downer. After the first one
being incredible and the second being pretty good, the third was just awful! |

If you're judging their average quality as a whole, this is probably true. I think the first Matrix
film was better than any of the Lord of the Rings films but the rest just weren't as good. The
second Matrix film, in particular, was appalling and pretentious, although the third was a bit
better. The Lord of the Rings films were fairly consistently good. I think the second one was
probably the overall best, not the third which won all the Oscars.
If I had to do without one or the other set of films, though, I'd probably rather do without the
Lord of the Rings films, simply because The Matrix 1 is a masterpiece and its greatness more than
compensates for the weakness of all the others. |

If I had to watch all three I would choose LOTR, but Matrix 1 was phenomenal and the next two were
complete garbage. |

Would you rather see a bunch of people shooting eachother with guns in slow motion in enhanced
settings or a gay wizard talking to a midget, and a half naked thing jumping around, along with
orlando bloom. |

Oh no, I do not agree with this at all.
No one can beat the matrix. It is lie, it is philosophy. All roads lead to Rome: Philosophy, so no,
I categorically disagree. |

No, I am a dyed-in-the-wool MATRIX fan.
It is based upon Plato's Allegory Of The Cave.
So much philosophy: Matrix, one of best movies ever. |

Sorry newby but the matrix is oooo much more original.....and lord of the rings was way too long and
disjointed from the books in some areas. |

I'd really have to say no, neither of them are particularly good. It's a lot of eye-candy and very
little substance. The first Matrix was excellent, at least in concept. It failed a bit in
execution. The second and third movies... Weren't that great. All of the LOTR films were mindless
eye candy and far, far too long for the amount of plot. They could have cut an hour out of each of
them and not lost anything. |
