Let's list some joys then. 1) Love - Is it possible to be free - Yes. But don't you have to pay
for dates, tokens of affection, weddings, and provide for your love's well being? - Yes. In
reality it's not free. 2) Food - It's only free if you grow it yourself, and really how many people
can do that? Even if you farm you seldom grow every single thing you consume. 3) Sleep - Yeah it's
free, but the shelter you lay down in isn't free unless you built it yourself out of sticks.
And I'm sure we could go on and on. Although sometimes you can get great things for free those
things are just the tip of the iceberg of what you really need.
It's pretty tongue in cheek to deconstruct joys like that but i mean... the dates/tokens seem more like an investment to get to love, then it seems more cultural that when you get to love you splurge on some crazy wedding.
food, companionship, and sleep aren't joys they're essential for life. the sensations that any given person goes through have no price tag. slavery being a sort of ultimate example of a jaded country taking things for granted. freedom has a price: guilty conscience. the ability to move past mistakes and transgression takes a mutual effort of caring and consideration and i see it all the time. its beautiful but it definitely had a cost.
I disagree. Yes, the true joys are free, but in this day in the age of society, one's own money is
basically considered equally important as one's own blood.
