I recently came across a game called 'The Game' and is very simple. If you think of the Game, you lose. But if you forget about it then you are back in, up until you think about it again. If you lose the Game, then you have to tell someone straight away to cause them to lose the Game. No-one can say they aren't playing because everyone is. The only way to win is to never think about it. Ooops, I've lost XD. Your thoughts.
The Game itself is an affliction -- obsessive-compulsive disorder -- wherein people desperately try
to avoid thinking about thoughts and images that distress them. But to avoid thinking a thought,
you must think about the thought you want to avoid thinking about.
In The Game, however, you can dump your obsessions on another person. But then you'll be thinking
about how happy you are to no longer be plagued by thoughts of the Game...
Nope. Doesn't work. Continue with the compulsive behaviors you use to relieve the anxiety.
Therapy only forces you to think about the Game which causes you to lose.
