I am all for the Democrats to write their very own plan, for anything. Heck, they even have the
majority in Congress so it should pass, right?!?
Remember, nearly 40% of the Democrats voted against the bailout plan too. Not even Barney Frank is
talking to THOSE PEOPLE.
Then, when the whole mess blows up in their faces, they should only blame themselves. But Bugman
knows, the Dems will figure out a reason the GOP is to blame. |

They did. It is what caused the current mess. In Carter's administration the 'Community
Redevelopment Act' was passed. It was designed to help first-time homebuyers buy homes at favorable
rates. In Clinton's administration, Janet Reno threatened lenders with discrimination lawsuits if
the did not make it easier for lower income people to obtain loans.
