I love the Brit comedy. I just don't know if they are the best. There are some pretty funny
people and things in other countries and I can't rate them because I don't speak Spanish or Japanese
so they could actually be better and I just wouldn't know it. |

Brits are quite charming indeed, however they have a peculiar sense of humour. |

Little Britain is massively over rated so bad example. I would agree if you limited the statement
to sitcoms. Ours are so much more varied than the bland, formulated crp that comes out of the
States (with the odd exception). But comedy incorporates many more formats. The British have never
come close to making cartoons as funny as Family Guy or the Simpsons. Some of the greatest Standups
are American. No Brit has made a spoof film of the calibre of Airplane. That said the funniest
film ever, in my opinion, is The Life of Brian.
Pound for pound we might just win it because we have such a small population compared to the US but
because The Simpsons, Family Guy, Zucker & Zucker and Bill Hicks exist(ed) I have to disagree. |

I disagree. I really liked Forgetting Sarah Marshall (okay Russell Brand is British, but the movie
was still American), I Love You Man, ... I guess it all depends on your like and dislikes. |

I consider myself to have a wide range of comedy levels and intakes and the cultural difference
between the US and the UK is just too large. The comedy must adapt to it's people and the UK humor
personality does not "fit all". |

I think the best stand ups are from the States.
I know a lot of people might disagree.
I read something this morning, Jerry Seinfeld lost the power of speech the first time he tried, was
booed off with a slow hand clap and knocked them dead the very next evening. That took some guts and
shows comedy is tough, and the moral of the story never ever give up and don't let people try to put
you down :-)) |

No. I don't think so. There is no such thing as 'the best'. Actually, whether the comedy is good or
not larely depends on where you have been brought up. It doesn't have a universal appeal. |
