| The Assumption By Most Nonreligious People On This Website Is That All Theists Are Christians |
| I'm Muslim. That is written in my profile. While I'm aware that some people don't visit other people's profiles, it's still obvious that I'm not a Christian if you've responded to some of my debates. Yet, many athiests or other irreligious folk on here take a default position which means they end up attacking straw man arguments. |

Simply not true. I think you are confused between the difference between us assuming most theists
on this site are Christian - which is true, they are - and thinking all theists outside this site
are Christian.
This is a western dominated site so it stands to reason most of the religious on here will be
Christian. If people assume incorrectly about your faith then simply correct them - it is a
reasonable assumption that they made even if it was incorrect. |

I can only speak for myself, but I make no assumptions about what one believes. Almost every
religion on earth does not tolerate atheists and so based on the hatred of atheists in every
religion on the planet I believe all religions are the same. However, PEOPLE are different.
Different PEOPLE have varying views on atheists. So it is not my right to say I pick on Christians
or Muslims or the Jewish. I attack the underlying tone of the religion, not the people who practice
it and therefore I attack all religions the same. |

You have made it quite apparent what your religion is. I think you just expected some sort of fan
fair. I think you should also know that to a non theist Islam and Christianity don’t seem very
different in many ways. I’m not trying to be rude here, just speak plainly, it’s not that we
don’t know what religion you are it is more that we just really don’t care that much. |

Actually I don't think it is widespread on the site, I've always known since you joined the site
that you are a muslim. And I think most the established debators are quite aware of what religious
preference a person is of or lack of preference. |

Sorry but no, the assumptions by most nonreligious people on this site are 1) that the very
religious are closed minded, and 2) that the very religious are intolerant of the nonreligious and
want to push their views and beliefs upon most everyone else. Granted neither of those assumptions
are fair, but then again many of the assumptions the religious make about the nonreligious are not
fair either. |

No. But when one lives in a "western" country, a religious person is most likely to be a
christian.
I live in Taiwan, and most here are buddhists or daoists. At least they leave people alone and
don't harass and annoy me or others with their beliefs (except at Chinese New Year, when they
blow up all those damned firecrackers and I get headaches from all the banging). |

I certainly don't assume anything. I think it's clear that the most vocal theists on this site are
Christian, but there's no reason anyone ought to think that most, or even the majority of them are. |

Wrong. Muslims are just as bad and maybe even worse in todays world especially in how they treat
women. So you are not removed from criticism. Christians have a negative historical past that
justifies their behavior and thinking today. You guys haven't let your oppressive past go. You are
just doing what Christians have done in the past. All in the name of your God. |
