Maybe not for hard liquor, but regular beer, sure. |

How about a learners permit. Pass a test with a few basic facts about drinking and then you must be
in the presence of an adult. |

I agree with keepmindok.
If teenagers want to drink then they find ways to get hold it, the law does not stop them so it's
pretty pointless being there. It actually might make it seem more exciting if it's illegal, I
definitely used to drink more before I was 18.
It should be left to the parents to inform children of the consequences of drinking alcohol. |

It is buying alcohol that is illegal . Isn't it?
Sensible parents will teach their children to respect alcohol. Just the same as they teach there
children to respect others and their property. |

I think 16 is a bit young, but I think if at 18 you are old enough to go to war then you are old
enough to have a beer. |

16???? I would not want any 16 year old in my area drinking. At 16 you are less likely to make an
intelligent decision when driving home from the bar while intoxicated perhaps. Come on seriously a
16 year old is still in high school. |

Congratulations honey you passed your driving test. Here's a case of beer. Have fun! |

18 not 16. If it was at 16 all the kids who just get their new licenses would do what the first
time they can drive by themselves? Take advantage of the new liberty of being able to buy booze, and
since its their first time driving alone, why not? Next thing you know, the life expectancy of 16
year old after getting their permit is a week. Not a good idea. |

16 is completely unreasonable. At the age of 16 your still a child and any sort of alcohol is not
for children. Even if you are in the military and 18 you should still not be allowed to drink.
Maturity and peer pressure play a major role in drinking responsibly and there's a big difference
from the age of 18 and 21. Yes most of us drank alcohol under age but that's just the nature if the
beast and our children will do it as well. If it's made legal we would have an increase of DUI's and
teen pregnancies etc.... BAD, BAD IDEA!! |

Kids (at 16 yrs old and older even) have no idea how to consider that their actions have real
consequences. That is the only mindset that would agree to this ridiculous notion. |

It should be 18, the same as the age in which you can go fight and die in the military for your
country, the same age as you get the right to vote, the same age as most people get out of high
school. |

Your wrong.
Basically what your saying is were going to fully allow people who are just getting into high school
peer pressure and just getting driving experience to drink without any type of fear of being caught.
In my opinion we should fully ban alcohol for it does nothing but kill and destroy.
That alcoholic father beats his family and thus makes them move away from him.
That alcoholic teen lacks the experience and thus drives a car while drunk and runs into that single
mom and her 5 kids killing them all but 1 of the kids. Which probably mentally traumatizes the
child. The only reason we keep alcohol is because we know even if we fully ban it the alcoholics
would just make the beer themselves and bootleg it to towns which was proved during prohibition. |

What, and have every child getting wrecked out of their skulls every weekend in a country ful of
guns? No thanks. |

No, it should be 18. You can't even smoke when you are 16. |
