The AK-47 Is A Better Weapon Than The M16
The AK-47 has served as the workhorse weapon in a vast number of conflicts around the world. It is tough and resilient. It is not finicky about being cleaned all the time, which is often impractical in a real war. The M16 has had many problems. In Vietnam, many American soldiers were killed because it jammed on them. Though some of these problems were addressed in later design revisions, the AK-47 remains a superior general purpose weapon. Even some American soldiers in Iraq prefer to use AKs they have picked up rather than the weapons they were issued.

If an AK-47 rifle can fire an entire clip in one go without jamming then it makes it a superior weapon.

The AK-47 lacks only for long-range fire. In all other ways that matter (reliability, rate of fire, maintenance, stopping power, among others) it is superior.

Another main reason for the success of the gun is those who use it. The sides that carry the AK-47 are willing to die for their cause by the millions if necessary. Americans became gunshy and horrified when the death toll in Iraq hit 100.

The US is falling into the same pit that caused the Nazi war machine to grind to a halt: Perfectionism and manufacture. The US is too busy worrying about perfect technology instead of making functional technology. The US is trying to make it so none of their soldiers die, and when they do, the US doesn't have the stomach to deal with it. In Vietnam, the NVA lost nearly two million (compared with 50000 US troops) and were willing to keep fighting. The same it happening now in Iraq: The US has murdered around a million Iraqis yet flinches every time a single soldier is killed.

The American army have made a vareation of the M16 that's just as reliabul but it costs way more.

The AK-47 Kalashnikov rifle is indeed better than the M16 and has been given the title of best assault rifle in the world. Sand won't jam it, water won't rust it, it is invincible to all the aspects of warfare. The name is as recognisable as Coke. This Soviet rifle is the best money can buy.
