The "00's" Is The Best Decade So Far For Fashion
I think the new millennium has brought with it a lot of new fashionable clothing that even though we are still in it, won't be looked back on with "what were we thinking?"

Yep.
We have had the best jeans in the late 1990's through 2000's in the history of denim.

Yes. It's brought many interesting aspects of fashion and fashion design. I don't think the fashion has gotten this extreme (in a good way).

I agree, because today besides the new stuff, we have been able to make fashion using ideas from back in the days.

I would have to say so...because we have more of a choice of what we wear now...it is not just the same old thing......but also in today's world we really do not judge people on what they wear anymore...

In this millennium, the fashion has become more diverse and there has been far more experimentation with designs than ever before. The people are now more aware about fashion and they understand it. Nowadays, you’ll see the same designer making different kind of clothes and the product lines have become larger and more diverse. This is due to the fact that many people from different cultures live in the same place and their tastes are different. The designers are making use of this by keeping the tastes of the people in view and meeting them through their designs.
Even if someone doesn’t wear Designer clothes, small boutiques and shops are also making designs which would attract people with different tastes and backgrounds.
At present, Fashion is more about one’s own comfort. People still wear what they feel comfortable in and as life has now become busier, it is more about being casual in daily life instead of being more presentable or dressed up. And you can be fashionable even if you’re dressed casually.

There is no doubt in the fact that the millennium year has really been a year for fashion. It brought with it many new styles and fashionable clothing. In every side of our culture we saw changes. All the stereotype methods were slowly changed and new and new fashion statements came into the scenario. One, who has continued being in a typical style formula before the millennium, changed his or her presentation and dressing sense, hairstyle and all other things. The changes that the millennium brought along with it have been the best among the lot and that is the reason why we can say that it was the best decade till this far for fashion. Though fashion has changed a lot after that but the millennium change was exceptional.

No. I think it's even one of the worst decades since the times of old Rome. Yes, it's like that. See how elegant fashions used to look in the 19th century, the 20s, the 30s... And today's fashion simply sucks compared to most former times. No matter which decade you choose. Only the 70s could rival the 2000s in the matter of crappy fashion.

The new millenium has no originality at all. it's made up of groups of sheep who endlessly follow each other's cues. Females are encouraged to dress like whore, and it's considered beautiful. the girls are getting younger and younger. males are either weak and prissy in the way they act and dress, or brute gangster-like fools. this is the new america (and other countries like it). the 1920's and '30's was the best time. the women were beautifully and gracefully dressed. a small bit of leg was shown in a respectable and lovely manner. the hair was devine on all races of women. men looked dapper, well put together, romantic, tough, and well-mannered at the same time. it wasn't just the clothes, it was was the attitude, the respect and the morals. they were wild, certainly. but as the best generation, they had fun, and had purpose. just watch old 20's and 30's movies. not today's movies trying to imitate it by a woman putting on some flashy sequence dish-towel dress and a feather half-heatedly spouting "daddio" get familiar with those real time and you'll see it was truly the best generation, and every bit of social and technological progress good or bad is thanks to them. but somewhere along the lines we started to respect ourselves and each other less. now what would be a charming woman and man, lady in a beautiful knee-length dress, with a crown of wavey hair, a man in a nice, stylish suit treating the woman with respect ideally, you'll see a half-dressed loud mouth skank, with an equally loud mouth boy, sagging and well, behaving like an ape. it's not freedom, it's not liberation, it's not the future. it's regression. we should have enough brains to have the freedom that comes with the new millenium, and still retain the pride, dignity and sophistication of the past. where did it go? as for creativity, clothes are dull today. if you want to see creativity, again, look at the 20's and 30's. you'll see some of the craziest, most interesting clothes. colorful (though you can't see that in black and white) And beyond our clothes reflecting our morality, it reflects our intelligence, or lack of. Smart people, truly smart people respect themselves, but also want to radiate their personality. when I see people all dressing generally the same sloppy way, it depresses me. Plus, today age is one with the internet. it leaves us no excuse for ignorance. The people before the internet were better informed in a lot of ways. Why is that? Insane

Ha! The question is, what are YOU thinking? I already think a lot of today's fashions are absolutely crazy and disgusting! Personally, I find the 40s and 50s to be great decades for fashion that doesn't become "outrageous" over time. Yeah, we don't wear those fashions today, but I have never met someone that looked at them and said,"What the heck were they wearing?!"

People from every decade think that though and usually end up laughing about what they used to wear. The same will probably happen when they look back at this time period in say 20 years.

I prefer a more tailored look, the fashions of today are sloppy, and leave little to the imagination.....I will get a lot of slack for saying this but I think mini skirts and other clothes should not be made for anyone over a size 9

EVERY decade thinks there's is the best for fashion. What are you referencing it to? Better than 80s? 90s? 30s? I'm partial to the 20s myself, but really, saying that any one year was fashionably better is ridiculous and missing the point. The fads that come and go are stupid, what matters is that the person likes what they wear because fashion is individual self expression to the world, so like what you wear and forget about decades!

I agree and disagree at the same time! I think it's a good decade for fashion, because its the best of the last hundred years of fashion. I disagree that we won't look back on our clothes and say "what were we thinking",

The '00s have some of the worst styles ever!!! The clothes for girls look skunk and the clothes for guys want them to show their underwear. I don't want to see anyone's underwear, be it my friends, or the person I'm dating.

I strongly disagree, I really am disgusted by goth and emo styles. I like retro clothing such as Tye-dyed shirts.

I disagree. There was a time in the 50's and back when people went out actually caring if they looked presentable. Now you see people go out in old ragged T-Shirts and sweatpants, after they've just exercised or they are tired and stressed. Don't get me wrong, I love people to be comfortable, but I believe the 00's to be a 'quickly throw on whatever is there' era.

Also, I think anyone of ANY era will say that they liked the style then, because it WAS popular then.

Nuh uh. Look at the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's we love those looks. Fashion is not a big deal and I think there's a lot of times where people looked better than we do now especially the 60's. Just my opinion

I disagree that the 00s are the best decade for fashion so far. Over the years, there have been some really great fashion options. My favorite decade for fashion would be the 80s.

I believe that fashion today is way too provocative. Back in the 80s, most of the body was covered and it was not as offensive. I loved the mini skirts (that were not too short) and the large, baggy shirts of the 1980s. Today, the mini skirts barely cover the butt and they look terrible. Only small, skinny girls can wear today's mini skirts. Back in the 1980s, anyone could wear a mini skirt and make it look good.

So, I disagree that the fashion of 00 is the best yet. On the contrary, I believe that it is worst yet. No fashion will ever beat the trendy fashions of the 1980s.
