I do engage with young ppl, and I have to say they are always well mannered and trustworthy.
It is the few who tarnish the reputation of the many.
It is a pity that the media have such a witch hunt all the time, and well, kids will live up to it,
wont they. |

Not all teenagers are bad. Most aren't. Even if they do drink, take drugs, and act violently towards
others its just them being human. Drinking and taking drugs are only bad to the fact they cause
health issues. They can cause other problems, but that's just if you use them in an irrational
manner. Also we can't ignore our natural violent instincts. There's a difference between having a
good game of fisty cups over an unimportant argument, and shanking someone in a dark alley for their
wallet. Regardless what age you are, you are always you, so if your a bad teenager than you'll be a
bad adult. Thus there are just as many trouble causing adults as there are teenagers. |

Teenagers may be represented by the media in a stereotypical way, but i don't see that as
treating them badly. What harm does it do to teenagers? Its just a harmless generalization. |

So if I think that all teenagers are drunken, violent, drug addicts, it's only a result of a small
minority reinforcing a negative group stereotype in our shared zeitgeist? How is that any different
from how we perceive any other group?
I contend that if all groups are perceived unfairly based upon the negative actions of a small
minority, then it is, overall, a fair system of perception as everyone is treated equally unfairly. |
