Education Education. Thrice. And what do they have to show for it? Teachers leaving in there droves,
spending the rest of their lives on Diazepam.
I remember a keeper at Edinburgh Zoo, who said to the Governor, who wanted the chimps taken out of
their cages, placed into a large enclosure for a tea party, (which they had been doing for some
time). "If you want those chimpanzees to have a tea party? Then give them a tea party, I wont be
there".
Teaching teenagers, must likened to that only without authority control or discipline. I wouldn't
want to do it. |

I agree they need to have torture chairs for the really bad students that send 10000 volts of
electricity through them |

I agree, the teachers at my school have very little power over the class because they're not allowed
to touch them in anyway.
One of my teachers placed his hand on a boy's arm to sort of guide him out the room, and he got sued
for sexual harassment.
What's wrong with society? |

Why would you need to touch a student in order to teach them. You should focus more on what is the
best way for them to learn. |

The issue with this is where is the limit of their power; teachers already have a considerable
amount of power with their rights to suspend, expel and give supplementary work etc. Now, what other
areas can their power cover without reaching the unpleasant point of corporal punishment.
I believe what we really need to focus on is educating teachers on exercising punishment more often
or even motivating students additionally. |
