Tanning Should Be For People Over 18
I think its unhealthy for people under 18 to get a tan

Although I think that it is unhealthy for adolescents under the age of 18 to get a tan, I personally believe that it's unhealthy for anyone. Magazines, the media, and many others sources are contributing to the fact that a beautiful woman needs to be "skinny and tan". Every person is beautiful the way they are, and being dark or pale shouldn't matter. What I am is saying is that I believe tanning should be banned under all circumstances.

Anyway, tanning is a different way for the youth who is growing to absorb more calcium.

To be perfectly honest, I think sunbeds should be banned anyway! I have never been on one and never would because i am so aware of the consequences. But there's girls my age and much younger who use them. I feel like saying to them why the hell don't you just get self-tan! It's so much healthier! I've said to my boyfriend who used to frequently used them if he went on again i would be very angry! Untill he met me he wasn't aware of the dangers. I would prefer to be white for the rest of my life, than to develop skin cancer or the wrinkly sagging skin these girls will endure at a young age!

I say it should. Just for the fact that if an under age person ever develops any skin disease, if that person decides to sue the tanning salon place, law can take more serious actions because they put a minor in danger of health issues.
And if your 18, its easier to say that your old enough to know what your doing, and can take more responsibilities for your actions taken.

I agree. It increases your risk for skin cancer and makes you look older. I don't understand what kind of parents would let their children do this. Even being an eighth grader, I still have the foresight not to tan.

It is unatural for your skin to be under such strong rays, and it has been proven to cause cancer and skin pigmentations.

Tanning abuse has been proven to cause melanoma, among other things, but the health risks are largely ignored. Individuals of younger and younger ages are developing skin cancers, and there is no legislation to prevent this. Continuing to let underage individuals tan with no regard for their health sets a dangerous precedent.

Tanning; as the purposeful attempt to darken your skin in an even and attractive manner, who cares.
Tanning; the natural darkening of the skin as a reaction to being outside and doing things you like or need to do outside Just try not to burn too much.
Although let me tell you some places really suck to get a sunburn.

I don't get how people can go tanning every week. These people look so ugly. Nothing wrong with tan lines.

No.

I am against tanning. This is just someone white trying to be insecure about their national-origins and trying to look like those of another racial ethnicity than what they have got.
Everyone should like what they have got best. Not worry about other people's skin.
Tanning is unattractive.

Why? Is it all of a sudden healthy to get a tan when you turn 18? We might as well say you cant eat trans fats until you're 18.

Instead of more laws for children how about parents who pay attention to what their children do. Then there is the fact that tanning can be done for free by lying in the sun so how can tanning by children ever be regulated let alone stopped.

Tanning is ok for older teenagers also. I know that for prom and homecoming, I went to the tanning bed because I don't care what you say, no one looks good in those beautiful dresses as pale as a ghost. Take a look in the fashion magazines. None of the stars are pale in those dresses. Tanning has no worse effect on your body whether your 16 or 18.

It can cause melanoma at any age actually. Imagine finding out after prom that you have skin cancer because you wanted to look tanned. There are many shades of prom dresses that compliment those gorgeous skin tones.

So, I lock my children inside and keep them from seeing the sun until they are 18? I don't think so.

From what I'm understanding from this:

Only the old and decrepit should try to tan and get all burnt up. Because they are going to die soon anyway.

You're crazy.
