Subway Is Over-rated!
The Subway chain has become a huge success in Britain and I'm not sure about America but I think it has. Is it over-rated? Personally I think not.

I'm Australian. Maybe they don't make it the same here? I don't know but it's not my first choice

Subway is overrated and overpriced. I don't really understand why people are willing to pay $7 for a sandwich that they could just as easily prepare and enjoy at home. If you ask for one of their combos--including chips and a drink--you will pay around $10, which makes Subway more expensive than most fast food restaurants. For just a few dollars more, you can already enjoy a hot meal at a proper restaurant.

I do agree that Subway is marginally healthier than McDonald's, but their motto of "eating fresh" is misleading. All of the vegetables that they put in their sandwiches have been pre-cut, diced and chopped, and they stand in bins all day. I also suspect that some of them have been frozen. Although they do still taste fresh when they put them into a sandwich, most of the nutrients and vitamins have long since vanished.

Locally, I can get 3 foot-longs at Subway for $12.99 any day of the week. Add drinks and chips and I can feed a family of 4 for less than $20. That's expensive?

Further, you don't really get the idea of going out to eat. If they wanted to cook at home, they wouldn't be at Subway, would they?

I agree that Subway is hugely over-rated. The prices are high, the way the food is prepared isn't exactly very appetising and then the actual food itself is mediocre. I don't know why it has become so popular in Britain because in my opinion it isn't as good as other chains such as Greggs.

I don't think it is it gets the credit and customers it deserves for its great food. I think there's a lot of choice and variety and also the fact you can choose your own sandwich combinations is good.

Its actually not!!! The footlong meatball marinara has the same amount of salt as 18 bags of ready salted crisp!
A sandwich from Marks and Spencer contains more calories than two mcdonalds hamburgers!!!

Subway is absolutely delicious and makes a nice, fresh alternative to all the greasy, fatty stuff that all the other fast food places sell.

Subway is awesome. I used to hit that place up everyday, and they have one here on campus and I still go every day. Quiznos main selling point is toasted subs, which is ironic because every other sub place out there offers toasted also. It would be like Chevy's main selling point is having windows that roll up and down with the push of a button. It would be totally pointless. Subway is da bomb. Long live Spicy Italian on Italian herbs and cheese!

Perhaps Quizznos is just under-rated.

Subway is the food of kings. It's the stuff modern day gingerbread house's should be made of. However with the amazing taste, comes a high price. With generous parents however, this does not hinder me. Subway is under-rated.

Compared to similar places, Subway is very reasonably priced. Have you tried looking at the prices at Quiznos? It provides an alternative to the standard burger joint and they serve much healthier food.

I don't think it's anything special. It's not bad, though. I usually have one of their tuna sandwiches about once a week. At least it's fresh food, or real food, if you like. I think it's good that fast food joints exist which sell real food. It's surely much healthier than the frozen food served up in Mickey D's.

One thing that's pretty funny about Subway, though, which you'll notice if you go to their website : The job title of the staff who serve at the counter and sweep the floor is "Sandwich Artist". Honestly. Imagine you had to fill out a mortgage application or something similar and had to write "Sandwich artist" in the profession box. Or you met a member of the opposite sex, and when asked what you did for a living, replied, "I'm a sandwich artist". Pretty funny. So the next time you go there be respectful. You're in the presence of an artist.

In America it is the better-quality of the fast food selections. The food is not hardly as processed, and fresh is what you rarely get at any fast food chain here. So given the choice of processed or less, most Americans who make good food choices will pick Subway when they have to eat out in a hurry.

I am guessing that Britain has less high-fat junk being served by restaurants so I can't see that side of it. I just see fast-food and high-fat content on every city street corner - that's what I'm used to in the US of A!

We also have lots of fast food here like McDonald's and KFC and stuff but not tacobell. Subway has largely replaced these old fast food outlets as a healthier option.

How the hell is it UNDER-rated!? Its popularity has rocketed in the last three years in Britain to the extent that it has pretty much surpassed MacDonald's in terms of popularity.
