| Are You For Tailgating Or Against It |
| Go around, if you hit my car and my kids or dog is in it, good luck, and may the Lord be with you. If you hit me from behind it is your fault, and I will take you to court. Maybe your in such a hurry you don't care if a 5 year old child is in the car in front of you, but guess what I do. BACK OFF, OR GO AROUND! I JUST GO SLOWER IF YOU TAILGATE! |

I say tailgating is something that everyone is guilty of. Some people just do it more than others
and some people do it all the time. I don't believe that no one has ever been in a situation where
they were trying to get somewhere and a blue hair was in front of you, holding you up. And if it
hasn't happened yet to you, it will in your life time.
I do however, think it is a dangerous act and it should be more enforced by the police. However,
many times on the interstates, the police themselves tailgate. I'll also say that I drive an
ambulance as well as my personal vehicles, and i too have been guilty of tailgating people that
won't move for us. Yes, it was dangerous, but no i won't say it won't happen again. It is a risk
to take, and it is wrong, but I won't say I haven't done it. But I will say, that if i was
responsible for an accident because of it, I would own up to it. |

Surely, tailgating is already against the law in that vehicles are supposed to maintain a safe
distance between them and the vehicle in front. Even at slow speeds, the thinking and stopping
distance is several car lengths and that is on a dry road, with good tyres and an alert driver.
I know this all too well as I was in a stationary car that was hit from behind by a car travelling
at no more than 15 or 20 mph. (We had been in a line of slow moving traffic) Even at this speed I
suffered a whiplash injury to my back. Probably, I guess, due to hearing the screech of brakes and
automatically tensing up.
Tailgating can never be right. It only shows disrespect to other road users and is bad road manners. |

True! Tailgating is an annoying habit that has somehow seeped into many drivers today. Following a
car closely with no safe distance between your front bumper and their back bumper is called
tailgating and results into several accidents every year.
Tailgating results into raging tempers for both the drivers. When two cars are driving close enough
to qualify for tailgating the driver may not get enough time to react if the car ahead comes to a
stop abruptly. Hitting the car from the back the tailgater will be on the losing end. Stop
tailgating for the sake of your own safety and that of others. |

At first I thought you meant tailgating in the parking lots of football stadiums, and I have nothing
against this, and so don't believe it should be stopped. Tailgating another car, however, is a
heinous act and should, indeed, be stopped. I am therefore FOR stopping tailgating. |

That 2 word statement is not written as a statement that can be debated as yes or no, pro or con,
for or against. Please rewrite it into such a statement. Thank you. |

Yeah I agree, nothing makes me madder whilst driving!
Whats the point in tailgating? Are you going to get to your destination any quicker ? The answer is
no. The problem is people feel so protected in their cars they get into bad habits and get away with
them until something unexpected happens. Last year my car was hit from behind twice, people need to
pay attention and stay a safe distance from the car in front! |

Yeah I agree w/ myself. |

I hate it when people are tailgating me! I always feel like slamming on my brakes everytime they do
that, but i was in a terrible car accident last year and don't feel like going through that again so
i don't do it lol. They always seem to be mad at you when you don't speed up too. Which is kinda
strange because i'm usually going 10 over anyways, and yes, i did just confess that i do speed a tad
bit |

I am against tail-gating, but I'm for hitting my brakes when someone is tail-gating me |

I am completely against the tailgating. It does not possess a good manner of road to tailgate the
other cars. It is a matter which is completely against the law. By going down the road, a vehicle
should maintain at least one feet distance from the other car in front of it. This should be
maintained strictly whether driving at a high speed or a lower speed. It is not at all acceptable
that tailgating is right whatever the situation comes. It is rather said to be a very dangerous act
because it may lead to a fatal accident too. This annoying habit can cause many harm to the others
and it is proved that tailgating has done many losses previously. Anyone who is in the driver’s
seat must follow the front car with a very safe distance between its front bumper and their back
bumper. |

Now, I'm not saying I approve, I'm just playing what we call "Devil's Advocate". There is a
slipstream effect at around 2 feet, creating better gas mileage. (suicide, say it with me) |
