Spiders are the enemy. They are alien. Look at all the different forms of life on Earth. They share
basic traits in common, like having two eyes. Spiders are something horrifically "other". They
probably emerged from alien DNA that arrived here on a meteorite or something. We should exterminate
them, although it would be hard to do. Maybe we could bio-engineer some kind of virus that only
affects spiders and wipe them out that way.
The only problem is that once we venture out into space we might come across planets where sentient,
highly-evolved spiders are the dominant life forms. They might have technology way in advance of
ours. If we killed all their kin on Earth, they might resent it and feel the need to avenge their
kinfolk. So, even if we could kill all the spiders, we should think carefully before proceeding.
If we do it, we should maybe erase all trace of it from the historical record, so that, if we
eventually make contact with highly evolved alien spider people, they can never find out that we did
it by examining our documents and records. It should be as if it never happened, just a dark secret
that everyone knows about and no one talks about. |

Yes, lets destroy spiders, and screw up an entire food chain. |

I hate spiders myself. But they do have their uses. They cut down the bug population, and aid
growing gardens. |

Spiders move in the most hideous creepy way but that's no reason to destroy them! They catch all the
hideous bugs and it's also good that they eat the ones already dead cause we don't want them lying
around.
It just makes me wonder why humans are here.
What is our job?
We were put on Earth to thrive and become a multi-billion race. Our job is done. |

Spiders are cool. That's that. They have eight legs! That's amazing. And I can think of only two
spiders that are even poisonous, all the others are beneficial. |

You’re kidding, right? If not, you are pathetically ignorant.
Spiders (and all insects) are a valuable part of the web of nature and its balance. Spiders are
essential to control certain insect populations and provide food for other species, specifically
birds.
The idea that spiders only kill dead insects is easily contradicted by observing a BUZZING fly in a
web.
Sure, very few spiders in the Northern Hemisphere are poisonous. Those species that are will just
make an adult human very sick, not kill him outright. Spiders only produce enough venom to kill
their tiny prey.
Remember, the fear of spiders is a learned, not instinctual, response. Women use it to get negative
attention, by shrieking and jumping around. Gimme a break …
Finally, have you never stopped in a meadow or bush on a damp early morning and been transfixed by
the beauty and perfection of a web? |

I like spiders, except the big hairy gross ones, but every creature has a place and a function on
the Greater Being's earth. If we destroy any one kind of creature, the world will be thrown into
disarray. Classic example - Biosphere II. It was basically a big bubble with almost every necessary
organism on earth. They were going to put scientists in there for two years. But it took a turn for
the worst, as oxygen levels depleted and other catastrophes occurred. The scientists realized that
they had forgotten one thing - bacteria. See? Without all the diversity on our planet, it would be
very, very different. And who are you to decide what's alien, other, or 'not right'? You don't have
the right to play God (if you will excuse the use of the word) and determine who and what lives and
dies. We humans don't have that power. |

I am scared of spiders, but I do not agree with them being destroyed. They are certainly not
worthless. Spiders get rid of bugs which can carry diseases. Not only that, but there are some
really fascinating types of spiders. They are creatures which should be left alone.
It doesn't matter that some spiders are poisonous. So are other creatures, such as snakes. Spiders
use their poison as a defence mechanism against other creatures and they also use it to capture
their pray. Some people are just unfortunate enough to live in countries where there are poisonous
creatures such as spiders, but that doesn't mean they should be destroyed. If they are left alone,
then they will bring no harm to us. |

Every creature that exists on this solar system has evolved some way to keep is existence
Granted I dislike bugs anyway...
But everything plays a role in the ecosystem... Everything is chained together in some way
For example
There was a kids TV show on Nickolodeon called Eliza Thornberry
She could talk to animals and here parents were safari people in Africa
there was a Finch trying to reach larva in a tree she spoke to the bird and helped him by pulling
off a cactus thorn and handed it to him
She did the same with the other birds
The amount of bugs subsided
the bug eating lizards frogs and fish were then effected with this food shortage
And in turn there predators were effected negatively such as seagulls, eagles etc..
The fish moved away and it screwed up things for the sharks
etc etc etc...
The little girl screwed up the food chain and the episodes base was on her not screwing with
nature!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Spiders are one of the most misunderstood animals, people are taught from childhood that spiders
are to be feared. Spiders are predatory invertebrate animals, they are not an insect they belong to
the class Arachnida. They share this class with scorpions, ticks, and harvestmen(daddy-long legs).
Besides being a unique animal to study and watch, they are incredibly important to the environment.
They keep the number of crop eating insects to a minimum, they also provide food for other animals.
Not to mention they are studying spider venom in labs to see if it can be converted into a disease
fighting agent. |

God made everything on the earth for a reason. If he thought that we didn't need them, he would
take them out himself. |

Yes, I hate spiders. They scare the living _ out of me. They are so ugly, and creepy.
But they are here for reasons. They eat harmful bugs, even though some are harmful bugs themselves.
Their is no way on earth we can destroy them all, so looks like we'll have them forever. |
