It can be good if used judiciously. If properly applied it is a punishment that rarely needs be
actually utilized. |

I agree. Kids need discipline. And when its done in love and done properly, the child will
appreciate it when they get older. I know I do. I am very proud to say that my parents loved me
enough to do the hard task of spanking their son. |

I agree but with the important clarification that the spanking should be a last resort, and
justified, and not cause physical harm.
Sure, I was spanked a few times, and I knew other kids who really really needed to be spanked and
somehow were not. So I'm not against spanking. But then I know another person who was spanked far
too regularly and unfairly and quite frankly she's emotionally scarred. So do it, but do it fairly
and as a last resort. An example of fair -- the kid is hucking rocks in the face of old people on
the street, thinks it's a riot, and says they don't have to listen to you. Well a timeout isn't
going to sober up your little rock chucker. That's spanking time. |

I agree with this because I was spanked a lot till I was 10 and now I am a honor student and I
hardly get into any trouble because after I turned 11 I realized that when I do something wrong pain
comes, so I stopped doing things that were wrong. |

Yes I agree as well that sometimes kids need a healthy smack or two to keep them "in line", and the
absence of corporal punishment has caused many brats to run wild.
But there's a lot of stupid, mean people that take it too far, and get carried away. So the
government has to step in at this point and define the difference between "keeping the kid in line",
and abuse.
And when parents abuse mind-altering substances like alcohol, things can get very dysfunctional very
quickly. |

I was wacked by my father.. But my mother was a get to bed and lay on that bed till i tell you, you
can get up. Hitting leads to aggression period. Laying on that bed while the kids were out playing
on a summer day was torture.. Given the option to take that fast beating over hours on that bed...
Spank me... Get it over... I will suck up my tears.... But please don't torture me with this
boredom. |

I saw a local female (I resist calling her a woman, as I was very Unimpressed by Her
methodology),
BEATING HER KIDS outside in her lawn in the middle of the day, as i walked by to go to the store to
buy my son who was sick at home with something respiratory in the viral-department, in bed sick, so
I was walking to the store the weather very permitting, and I was on the other side of the street,
as I walked by, she was CUSSING THESE WERE SMALL CHILDREN her children I am assuming, flogging, and
spanking, and beating them, cussing them, they were blubbering and miserable children!
All the way up the yard to the residence.....she was a obese, slovenly, creature......I was deeply
tempted to go remove those poor children from her so-called-care so much....
Poor children....:-(

That is what is wrong with the world as we know it.
I am against the neglect and abuse of children.
