Some Stores Way Overstock Their Supplies For Sale And It's Little Wonder They Hit Financial Hard Times
I was in a Bed Bath and Beyond the other day and of course they have 20' tall displays fully stocked, you'll see the same can opener 5 deep and 12 rows high far beyond the reach of customers. There's no way they'll ever sell all those can openers, and if they had just a 1/3 of those and ran low they'd have plenty of time to order more and restock. This store is just one example. It's no wonder some stores hit hard times.

I agree with you Grenache, however, bulk buying works out cheaper, and there are some very good perks involved, too, in most cases if you get my drift. At the end of the day the store can always go into receivership, and sometimes within a period of less than a year set up in business again. I could possibly be wrong with my last statement, and, It would be interesting to hear just how long the shortist actually period was before someone, or, someone's partner set up a similar business, buying all the bankrupt stock along route?

That's true, I hadn't thought about the bulk buying discounts. But then if they have 6 cases of can openers maybe they only need to put out 1 case and should keep the other 5 in the back room in their packaging, because that makes it easier to return or exchange them and limits dust or accidental damage.

And I agree I enjoy when stores mess up and have super sales which I can benefit from. But then if too many screw up and go belly up you lose your neighborhood supplier for those items.
