The only way to get to heaven is not good works. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he
gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. The
phase believes in him mean not to only believe that he is real but to truth is him. Jesus answered,
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)
That doesn't mean by works. Being good is not break any of the ten commandments. For all have sinned
and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) That all means that good works don't get you to
heaven. |

Good works do NOT get you to heaven. Believing in Jesus Christ does. |

So what your saying cephus is every aspect the bible preaches is false? Why don't you explain your
belief an point of view? |

Actually, I believe that 'heaven' is a comforting concept created by humanity to make death less
scary. |

Dang. Then we wouldn't need Jesus. And the indulgences would've worked. I could buy heaven! How punk
would I sound to say I didn't need God to get into heaven? Huh?

the big bang is spectacular. Its like a non existing thing (idk how it doesn't exist and does) blows
up (and since when did a grenade make stuff when it blows it up/destroys it?) and creates stuff.
That is like adding negative numbers and striving to come up positive. |

"faith WITHOUT WORKS is dead...being alone". (James 2:17-26) |

Okay, what about those people that DON'T believe because they were never exposed to Jesus? Does that
mean they have no chance?
I think it's all about the good works =) |

God's mercy is the only way to get to heaven, but He won't give it to you unless you have done good
things with your life. |

Good works are a result of your salvation. |

I am not religious and don't believe in heaven...however i also don't have the authority to say it
doesn't exist...
So IMO, and assuming heaven does exist-doing good deeds to get into heaven won't get you in. Doing
good deeds because you feel the need to dedicate your life to other may help. |

Salvation in Jesus Christ gives you to heaven not good works. |

One of the most famous characters in English literature is the peddler of indulgences in Chaucer’s
“Canterbury Tales.”
This man sold pardons to the gullible, with which they could buy their way into heaven. It was
centuries before the Catholic church finally outlawed this practice as immoral.
Many people still try to buy their way into heaven by performing “good works.”
While most do-gooders are altruists who perform acts of charity and aid that are entirely admirable,
some do it out of cynicism, to save their own souls from damnation.
Frankly, as an atheist, the concept of behaving admirably in this life in order to earn a better one
in the next is offensive to me. This is the kind of thinking that allows the church to keep the
masses down: It’s OK to suffer in this “vale of tears” now because you will get a reward in
The Beyond. |

Faith may get you into your heaven but Jesus is not the only one promising salvation. Again another
narrow minded religious zealot inferring that their god is the one true god.... All religions claim
theirs has the one true god, how many gods and heavens are there? |

Not at all that's nonsense |

Just read the Bible and listen to a pastor every once in a while and they botht ell you that you get
into Heaven by faith in Jesus alone |

Good works can lead to salvation, mainly because charitable deeds serve as living signs of faith
within the Christian tradition. It's one thing to tell congregation after congregation how you
"accepted Christ into your heart" one fine day and all of a sudden "became" a Christian. This alone,
however, is not enough to obtain eternal life. Your faith must be demonstrated in how you live and
in the choices you make.
A charitable act (such as making a donation or volunteering in the community) probably is not
enough for salvation in itself, but the motivation behind these deeds certainly may be. If your
motivation is the betterment of society, social justice and compassion, then this is the clearest
expression of the Christian faith that you claim to profess. If, however, the motivating factor is
material reward, recognition or praise, then these good works fall short. |

Yes good works do not get you to heaven, believing in Christ, The Son Of God does!!!!
Also IF science is correct(which it isn't) How do you Explain the big Bang that created the Universe
Happened? |

That assumes there's any such thing as heaven, for which there is no evidence at all. Therefore
it's a pointless question. |
