| Smoking Should Be Banned In Pub's Beer Gardens |
| Here in England, whenever I go for a quiet relaxing pint of beer, and a breath of fresh air, pub beer gardens are full of herds of smokers, puffing away on their cancer sticks, still moaning about not being allowed to smoke inside. They want banning off the premises altogether. |

The lovely beer gardens of England are being ruined by smokers puffing away on their cancer sticks,
they get right up my nose! They have absolutely no consideration for non-smokers, who can smell them
a mile away. They stink of smoke when they come back into a pub. They want banning from pubs
completely. I thought the cold sharp shock during the winter would help them to pack up. Watching
them stand outside pubs freezing their mitts off was laughable. However, even that didn't do the
trick, they seem to congregate in even larger numbers now, stinking out our lovely English beer
gardens. Do us all a favour PACK UP NOW! SMOKING KILLS!! |

Smokers can go outside where the fumes won't effect anyone but themselves. They might want to
consider packing up and that will effect even them. |

I agree. Though normally smoking and drinking come hand in hand, they should have separate sections
for smokers and non-smokers. |

With this i entirely disagree - we've had the indoor smoking ban, but surely we can't complain about
smokers going outside?
You know it's quite interesting, because i seem to have missed the point where smoking became a
socially acceptable prejudice. When i could go to a supermarket and not like the herds of fat people
in aisle 4 but dare i say that i want them banned from the supermarket because i don't like the
smell and it's spoiling my shopping experience.
Smokers have become a hated group - do we ever hear people saying "lets help the smokers" like we
hear people say "the obese need help".
Perhaps it's me - but i just think that if people don't like smokers smoking outside then perhaps
they should just go back into their nice and smoke free pub and let us all outside freezing our
asses off carry on. |

Joe9 you are one funny guy. I genuinely find what you say intelligent and witty; a true Englishman -
like myself.
But, unlike you, I smoke. I smoke where ever I'm allowed to smoke and to be honest I was stunned by
the sheep-like following the smoking band received when introduced in England; a common mentality
which is sweeping our country.
I mean, on the one hand, I can understand the hatred you have towards the smell and so on. But I
don't like hearing people swearing, but I hear it all the time! Big deal!! I can put up with things
that I don't agree with and still enjoy my time.
We are just so politically correct and so angry with any tiny little possible cause of offence that
someone may be doing nowadays, it's just getting ridiculous!
Live and let live joe9. Chill out and have a fag. |

Yo!! I go to a bar to relax. Smoke AND Drink. If it was MY Bar, I WOULD BAR NON-SMOKERS. Y'all can
always go across the street and not bother the people who are old enough to make their own choices
and being over 18 have the legal right to buy tobacco.
Next y'all will be telling us we cant smoke in our own homes, cars either. Just in case we wanna
sell our house or trade in our car it would not be available to a non-ny !! |

It should be up to the pub owner. If they want to cater to either group they can. It’s a business
choice. Perhaps you could have smoking licenses and only give so many in an area based on a
percentage of pubs in the area. Then you could assure smoking and non-smoking environments, locally. |

Okay.
If you want to enjoy a breath of fresh air,
Go to the park.
Don't expect to look for it in a BAR!
Hello?!
Seriously. Bars are for that stuff! |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Then what would make it a bar if there was no one smoking in there HA-HA |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
It never bothers me.
And since when did pubs let 12 year old in? |

Why should you be able to force your lifestyle choice on others? The risk of passive smoking in the
open air is minor, so they are not forcing it on you. The smell is unfortunate, but it's not as if
you can't get fresh air by walking somewhere else. |

Would it not be more advantageous if some pubs allowed smoking in the beer gardens and some didn't.
Then both smokers and non-smokers would be able to exercise choice and would both be able to relax
with a pint of beer and a breath of fresh air. |
