Although your statement is technically true I don't think these sites create a unique problem.
Criminals always find a way to fence stolen goods. And personally I'm happy they're less likely now
to stand on a street corner flip open their trenchcoat and say "hey guy, come here, wanna buy a
watch?"
But yeah, you're right that they're moving stolen goods using those sites. |

So do street corners but they are a bit too useful to get rid of. EBay and craigslist haven't
created any problems they just haven't solved them. At the end of the day most of the commerce on
those sites in perfectly legitimate. |

Kinda like pawn shops?
And if you live on a block and someone else who lives on the block wants to sell you a BlueRay, how
much trouble are you going to go to in order to prove that is wasn't stolen? |

You can at least if needs be trace the seller, and the buyer through the transaction. However, if
you buy the goods for cash off of a looky, looky guy, there's no way of tracing where the goods came
from! |
