There Should Be A Vending Machine Outside The Leisure Center Facilities
I think that you go to swim to stay fit as well as the gym so why should a vending machine be sitting there as if it's OK to put that exercise to waste.

Buying things from a vending machine is a personal choice, if you want to waste your exercise, I say "go for it!". Just because some people don't want them there doesn't mean that they should be gotten rid of. It can also be a way to practice that willpower by NOT buying from the vending machine.

It is up to the owners of the facilities to decide whether or not to allow a vending machine. I personally feel that it doesn't make much sense. I also do not like them in the schools, allowing kids to purchase junk food instead of a school lunch or eating their packed lunch. At fitness centers, perhaps the employees like them there and purchase snacks while they are at work. People do need to use some self discipline. If I just worked out for an hour, I would be less inclined to buy something from a vending machine, however I think some people work out so that they can eat the extra calories. The bottom line is money. The machines make money. When they stop making money, they will not be there.

That's because it is OK to put that exercise to 'waste' if that's what you wish to do.

It's hard to know which side to post on since the title says there should be one but the subtext suggests there should not be one.

Some disclaimers before my argument: 1) It's the owner's prerogative, 2) It's up to the individual to choose whether they give into temptation or not, 3) Perhaps people with low blood sugar might occasionally have legitimate reason to get a snack.

OK, with that said, my preference is to NOT have the vending machine so close to working out. It's detrimental. In fact one of my co-workers was telling me about his gym which has this thing going where one night a week they put out free pizza to get membership up and get people coming to their gym. To me that's the same thing - an unnecessary distraction or detriment to the reason people go to work out. It's to be avoided, not encouraged.
