If you have nothing to hide cameras are OK :) |

What is somebody gets into the school without being caught and is very dangerous, what is any random
student was just walking and saw that person and got killed. You will be more safe, Since you say
that you are being watched and all of that. Would rather get hurt or being watched for and be safe.
What is something bad happens to you, nobody knows. But since there was a camera, they can see you,
so they send help |

Course they should. The technology exists. It is enough of a reason to protect the kids as it is to
protect the teachers. A teacher aren't be in a room alone with any child, with the door shut. It
stands to reason. |

It's sad that they are necessary, but they are in many schools. Students who are bullied or stolen
from need to be protected, as well as protecting school property. With taped footage that shows a
kid stealing or damaging school property, the proof is there to back the accusations. It also
protects kids who are innocent, but who are accused because they aren't liked. I see a lot of
concern over areas such as changing areas and the bathroom. That is illegal, so no one need worry
about that happening at school. If it did, the school would face a lot of problems. I do think a
same sex teacher or volunteer could monitor these locations though. Again, there are safety issues
along with the need to guard against theft. Some kids are bullied and there was a recent report of
a 17 year old killing himself after a huge amount of bullying was not taken seriously enough by the
staff at his school. The bullies told him something to the effect that he should just go home and
kill himself. Well, he did just that. Despite his crying, no school official came to his aid.
That's a tragedy and totally irresponsible on the part of the school that the boy went to. Some
schools also have problems with drug use at school. I find this to be totally unacceptable. As a
parent, I do not want my children in that environment. My girls are not ones who would, at this
time, try a drug. They know that I would test them if I had even the smallest concern about that
and they are very open about things like that with me. Other kids aren't as strong and do not
resist peer pressure as well. How many children become addicts because they try a drug at a young
age? What seems harmless at a young age and considered to be experimentation, is not so harmless.
Some people have addiction problems. Some kids are addicted after "trying" a drug at a young age.
I'm not paranoid about these issues. I have read the statistics and my concerns are those of just
wanting kids to have an education in a safe and comfortable atmosphere. If there was a zero
tolerance rule for some offenses, the kids who are more likely to bring problems to school would
start to think twice after seeing a few kids expelled and sent to a correctional school, not just
getting a vacation (suspension). If the parents don't punish kids for being suspended, it seems to
me like a punishment that lots of kids would actually enjoy, unless it is an in school suspension.
That isn't even much of a punishment for some of the things that go on in even elementary schools
sometimes. Kids should be allowed to have their innocence and enjoy a stable and safe environment
at school. |

You have to be reasonable. Not in obscene places like the shower room. But hallways and such, sure I
don't see the issue.
I knew a school where no kids locked any lockers and they all trusted each other. It had such good
kids. I was kinda jealous and wanted to go there. It was the difference between some ghetto school
with guns and perfect sanctuary. |

I agree. But at my school they have them in the loo's and we swear that the cameras are overlooking
the cubicles. Which is scary |

Yes. There are a lot of problems that could be easily resolved with camera's, |
