Mcdonold's Should Be Out Of Business
I think that Mcdonolds should go out of business because it makes kids over weight and adults to also people with a little bit of money have to go there to buy their everyday meals because its the only type of food they can afford so they only really have a choice of being over weight.

Completely in agreement on this one. We live in a society where big business can profit at the expense of human life and well-being. McDonald's has questionable ethics in its dealings with employees, produces food known to be dangerous to children and still markets directly to those children, cares not for the state of obesity in the USA and the world in general and crushes small businesses trying to make healthier, more dignified livings.

McDonald's does not have the right to do what it does. It buys the right to do what it wants...

I think McDonalds should be out of business because kids get really sick and unhealthy from it. And i am 10 years old who eats fast food a lot but still stay in shape. I try not to eat it but it is so good.

Of course they should be in business, they are financially successful and if people don't want to eat there, they should go somewhere else.

Is this a serious question?

Added: It is the sole responsibility of the parent to be able to properly feed their kids. If you can't feed 'em, don't breed 'em. McDonalds has no responsibility whatsoever to do more than meet industry standards, it's just liberal stupidity to think that they somehow have to be responsible for the overall health of the people who walk through their doors.

Mcdonald's should not go out of business. It's a big target for the blame of the obesity epidemic, but there are other factors to the epidemic that the blame cannot solely go to McDonalds. I know plenty of people that are overweight that eat Baskin Robbins but not McDonalds. Should they go out of business too? Should every place that is cheap and serve food that's considered unhealthy go out of business?

There are places that inexpensive food like Macdonald's that are not expensive. Arby's..Subway...Saladworks...

Parents have to raise their kids to eat healthy. But if someone wants to celebrate an occasion--why should they not be able to go get a Big Mac, if they love it. Should they sacrifice their favorite treat because other people can't control their waistlines?

No, because you can decide whether to eat it or not. Also, if you need to pick up a quick meal/snack and are in a hurry, then you can buy something at McDonald's.

No because it's your choice to eat their food all the time

McDonald's should not go out of business, because it's not their fault for child obesity, it's the fault of parents who buy it for their kids almost daily, and the kid's fault for not getting any excercise, I am not very sympathetic to fat people getting bullied, I do not do it myself, and I do not support it, but it is their choice to live that kind of lifestyle whether they were unaware or not, they can always lose the weight, but they must have an extremely high level of commitment, and that can only come if they truly want it. Also, taking McDonald's out of business is extremely unjust and selfish to be doing it without regard for others just because of child obesity, if the parents had a problem with McD's making their own kid fat, they would forbid it in their house, and not go their for food.

I think that fast food joints should be judged on how many people they poison. McDonald's has a pretty good record compared to, for example, Jack-in-the-Box, who has inspired many a horror story, even before their poor record on the e-coli poisonings. McDonald's actually goes to the trouble of importing their beef from New Zealand because their ground beef is safer, historically, than US ground beef. I agree that McDonald's, like all fast food, is bad for you, but this is a personal choice. Like anything, moderation and making healthy choices is the way to go. Otherwise outlaw candy bars, pastries, trans fats, refined sugars, artificial sweeteners, msg, cola, the list could go on and on and on...

Maybe we should eliminate video games and computers and TV then people wouldn't sit around on their butts so much. There are healthy foods that are as cheap as McDonald's food so saying that is all they can afford is a lame cop-out. Finally I eat McDonald's and Buger King and Taco Bell almost everyday sometimes twice a day and I am 5' 10" and 130 - 135 lbs so it isn't the fast food company's fault it is the fault of the person who doesn't get enough exercise.

No McDonald's should not be out of business. Some people like that type of food. It is their choice to go to that restaurant. But they should be willing to burn that fat or large amount of calories off . Otherwise they suffer the consequences of their actions...eating and NOT exercising

No, they should suffer an even worse fate, meaning being finally overthrown by Burger King, the best fast food chain ever made.

MacDonalds does not make kids over weight. Kids make themselves overweight.

McDonalds offers people bad food. The people buy the bad food (I sometimes buy a McFlurry) so it is their fault for getting unhealthy from that food. If you somehow can't afford anything else...then eat. Better to eat from that corporation than to starve to death.

Disagree completely!
I never go in mcdonalds, its a horrible place, but people have a right to eat what they want and how much! It's a free world! Mcdonalds are making money out of it so I say let them!

I don’t think that affordability is as big a factor as convenience or taste when it comes to fast food. McDonalds is simply offering a choice for people who want to eat something other than home cooked food. People should be given a choice and it is wrong to suggest shutting down of these fast food joints. If you say that McDonalds is making people over weight I beg to differ as it is not the food served by McDonalds it is in fact the careless eating habits of these people. Over weight people fail to maintain a balance between healthy food and junk food which causes the unchecked increase in weight.

I disagree. However, I do believe that McDonalds should definitely change what they serve. The food that they currently serve is really gross. I like their French fries and chicken nuggets, but they are not healthy. I think that McDonalds should be forced to serve more healthy foods. They do have a few healthy options on their menu, but they do not promote them. They are always promoting their greasy hamburgers. Their television ads always make it look so good, but when you actually buy it, it is really gross. Therefore, I do not believe they should be put out of business, but I do believe they should be forced to promote a healthier menu.

It makes people over weight and people with not that much money are forced to buy it because they can't afford anything else.

No, people make people overweight, McDonalds doesn't grab people off the street and shove double cheeseburgers down their throats. I really don't get liberals who think that they get to point fingers at everyone else for their problems.
