Kids in public schools today are prohibited from holding public prayer with other classmates or even aloud to themselves. I think they should be given freedom of choice, rather than deprived of expressing their faith
Praying in school should be allowed. I feel it is discrimination not to be allowed. Everyone is
always yelling discrimination for color or age, what about praying. If that is something you believe
in and feel that you need to do, why can't you do it anywhere you would like?
Yes they should. Don't give me any "separation of church and state" bull. That isn't even in the
Constitution. It's about not having an official religion.
Sure, you can't stop kids from praying silently to themselves no matter how hard you try anyhow.
What you can't do is make a public show of your prayer or have it led by the teachers or have it
interfere with school time.
If you want to close your eyes and pray silently to yourself, have a blast.
As long as your not forcing other kids to pray with you its perfectly fine to pray outloud. It's even ok to start an after school group where you discuss religion and pray and stuff.
Actually in the state of Indiana prayer is allowed in schools here but only if its "student-led"
teachers aren't allowed to "force" their religion upon the students w/e
Cody. Student led prayer isn't banned. I know its not because my Gov. Class has been studying
religion is school for about a week now. You don't know what you are talking about.
