I do realise that if factory farming was banned that many people would suffer, I don't agree with
equality between humans and animals but I do believe that animals should be allowed to live a good
and long life. And they do not get this in factory farms. They are mutilated and often disabled
because of their lifestyle. BAN FACTORY FARMING. |

I reckon all chickens should be free range. 20% of factory farmed chickens die of stress or disease
from being stuck with 5 or 6 chickens in a 14 inch square cage |

No factory farming of animals should not be banned unless people want to change drastically and I
don't think it will ever happen;-/) |

Factory farming is cruel, this I would agree. It causes significant harm to animals, I would say.
However banning it worldwide would substantially raise food prices. This would increase the number
of people in starvation and harm the diets of many others. This would lower the standard of living
for hundreds of millions of people and cause hundreds of thousands more deaths a year. Given a
choice between harm to animals and harm to humans I will always choose the former. When people can
afford to they should make the moral choice to buy free range, but at the moment the global
population hasn;t even nearly reached that point. |
