I AGREE!!!! I've always wanted to feel like a part of the trials!!! If they were televised, we would
be able to choose a side based on the trial, not what t.v. Says. |

Transparency is important, to keep the system "honest." In the US, there is already transparency
through transcripts and open courtrooms (when it's appropriate to have them open!). Is it the same
in Australia? Camera's are intimidating in some situations, maybe embarrassing, and court cases
don't need to become reasons for concession stands. |

No! That is a violation of the rights of the defendant, and if there is a victim. It is also a
violation of the victim's rights along with the rights of the victims family. |

I'm strongly opposed to this. I feel that being involved in a criminal trial, whether as the
defendant, witness or victim, is potentially one of the most raw and intimate experiences any person
can ever be subjected to. No one should be forced to have their private trauma broadcast in that
way.
You could say that they are criminals so their feelings are of no account. Actually, though, they
are innocent until proven guilty so that argument doesn't stand up, and the violation of privacy
applies to everyone involved in the trial, not just the accused perpetrator. |
