Should Athletes Really Be Paid As Much As They Get?
Athletes are repersenting a nation but should they really be paid that much?

Athletes make so much money because they work is entertainment. Millions of people pay to see them do what they do. That's where the money comes from. It's not about what they deserve. It's about where the money is.
You can't afford to pay teachers that much because of the number of them. Every country would go broke if they paid teachers like pro athletes.

I can't think of any justifications for their salaries. Athletes hardly benefit society at all. Teachers ought to be making that kind of money. Well maybe not THAT much, but certainly much more than they currently make

I don't get it: How do soccer players get more money than a lawyer or a doctor, just for playing sports? With doctors and lawyers, you have to go to law or medical school, get a degree, then get some money. With sports players, they just have to be good at it and then you get a good amount of payment.

Yeah, athletes get way too much money, and then they complain when their $500,000 contract get cut to $450,000. Shoot there are people who deserve it a lot more like teachers, police officers, firemen, and other first responders.

Of course not. Many athletes receive MUCH more than they require to live on, and they don't do anything particularly special to justify their huge salaries. What about the people whose profession involves saving lives or really endangering their own to make things safer for other people? You don't see care workers or fire fighters being given 100s of 1000s of pounds/dollars (or whatever currency you like) every WEEK -- never mind year -- for their hard and highly important work, do you?

Athletes, musicians, film and TV actors, etc. Entertain people a great deal and enrich our lives; but their work shouldn't be rewarded or given greater admiration than those who directly SAVE lives!
