| Should America Really Be Acting As A Police Figure For The Rest Of The World? |
| America is constantly involving itself in matters that are its business without being asked. Examples- Iraq's government, Sudan conflict, others.... |

The U.N. Is too incompetent. Every other country is weaker. If the U.S. Shouldn't police the globe,
who should? |

I really struggle with this one. And i am reluctant to vote in this way, but if you look at
history, what would the world look like without the US intervening? Yeah there are some bad areas,
but on the whole there is more stability in the world because of the US. The problem is, the world
is a dangerous place and there are great evils in the world, and although policemen are not known
for their saintliness, the world needs policemen. I don't think it is fair that the US pays for it
all. |

The fact is that the US is still the world's major superpower and in some cases, it should
intervene, especially if the United Nations is too incompetent and ineffective to do so. Does anyone
here regret the fact that the US (through NATO) was involved in the bombing of Serbia, following the
Milosevic regime's genocidal policy towards Kosovar Albanians? Does anyone here believe that it
would have been better for all sides if the US played no role in ending the Yugoslav wars of the
1990s? A tragic example of what happens when the US sits back and lets the UN handle conflicts
without taking an active role is Rwanda. This shameful situation is best depicted in the British
film "Shooting Dogs."
The fact that the US made a huge error by invading Iraq for absolutely no valid reason does not mean
that it should abstain from intervention in situations when foreign governments initiate genocidal
policies against their people. In an ideal world, the UN would fill this role, but it has shown time
and again that it is unable and unwilling to do so. |

In my opinion America has no right to butt in other countries conflicts. They are not morally
superior to anyone, as the US govt seems to think. They should stop trying to dictate other
governments. They're hardly the best in the world, themselves. They should concentrate on their own
people more than anything else. |

America should not be interfering with the rights if other countries. I think its arrogant that
America can think that they are so special and powerful that they can solve anything. Some things
are best left to sort themselves out. |

America can never be country to police the globe. It lacks the cabability to understand the
cultural, historic and religious aspect of the other nations. Every nation has it policies. Let them
live by it. It not destroying the USA |

No.
We should leave other countries alone. We are not the world-cops.
All it does is pi$$ the rest of the world off against us.
America is hated around the world since 911.
It's sad. |

America should say "screw you!" to the rest of the world and start worrying about ourselves for a
change! |

The problem with the U.S. Policing the world is that its so inconsistent. Let's see, we invade Iraq
under false intelligence, which might i add had nothing to do with 9/11, had no WMD's, and the BS
line that bush used about Saddam using chemical weapons on his own people was 15 years ago. We still
have bases in Europe!! Europe!! The richest continent on the planet somehow needs Americas
assistance!! With what?!! And yet we let atrocities far worse than anything that happened in Iraq
go. N. Korea detonated a nuclear bomb!! Why didn't we go in? Genocide in Darfur. We do nothing. Its
only if your country has something of value to us that we "help" you out. And our "help" comes out
the barrel of a gun.
And if you just want to look at it against a purely monetary backdrop, we have paid billions of
dollars for this war in tax dollars. We pay off Iraqi insurgents to not attack us. WHAT ARE WE
GETTING FOR OUR INVESTMENT? WHATS THE RATE OF RETURN ON THE BLOOD OF FALLEN HEROES? |

I am against the death penalty - does this give me the right to occupy America and overthrow the
government? How about I allow a public execution of the president for allowing it in the past! Sound
familiar?
America seems to think it has the right to control the world, which of course it does not. If
America has a problem with a certain country it should terminate all trade with that country; it
certainly has no right to invade it!
P.S: By 'America' I am referring to the nation as a whole and the American government; I am
certainly not generalising the people of America! |

Isn’t America already doing that? I think this is a very absurd suggestion. Just because a country
has power and money does not give it the right to interfere with other countries and their affairs
unless invited.
Apart from literally wasting its resources America is earning hatred for Americans as most of the
countries being victimized and others observing the unfair treatment of soldiers towards innocent
people are against such military action and undue interference of America. When most of the
Americans and the soldiers are against such military action I wonder what could be the basis of your
suggestion. |

It's not our job to police the planet and we're wasting our time, money and resources doing so. If
someone asks for our help, that's one thing. Unfortunately, we spend far too much time sticking our
nose into business that isn't ours. |
| |

I think America should only involve itself when personally asked by a friendly country. It shouldn't
just suddenly appear in a country and start shaping things according to how they think it should be. |
