Do you think the protect Arctic National Wildlife Refuge should be broke into and drilled for more oil? Or should it be keep sacred as it has been for so long
ANWR contains more oil than beauty. In addition to that if it was so great why aren't more people
moving/visiting up there? There is only one reason not to drill in ANWR... You want to see America
economically damaged.
The smart thing to do is stop using oil, not drill for more. For a start, eat locally grown food
instead of transported food.
Will the geographical North Pole being bare of ice this summer not be convincing enough for you? Or
do you believe the rightwing lie that "global warming is a myth"?
"The smart thing to do is stop using oil"
Have you considered the consequences of this statement? What if we just stopped using oil? Do you have any idea what that would do?
"Will the geographical North Pole being bare of ice this summer not be convincing enough for you?"
Well, we're in mid July now. I haven't heard or seen anything on the news about the polar ice caps being gone. Is this going to hit sometime in August? I'm excited to see what was under all that ice!
"Or do you believe the rightwing lie that "global warming is a myth"?"
Perhaps there was a leftwing lie that global warming exists?
The ANWR contains some areas of extreme beauty and untouched natural environment which is
increasingly rare in this world. The case for protecting the remaining national parks is therefore
increasingly strong and it should be protected. I also am not convinced of the need to get it's oil.
Alternative sources such as Canada's Athabasca Oil Sands and Venezuela's Orinoco Tar Sands or the
potentially enormous resource of Shale Oil should be pursued instead.
