Sectarian Laws Are Based On Religion
Sectarian laws that's laws separate from religion are actually based around the laws from religion, that countries moved away from. For example one of the ten commandments states thou shall not kill - I don't know where I'm going with this, Do you agree or not?

Yes most laws are based on a morality that stemmed from the prevalent religion in the country that raised that system of law. However, that does not mean that should not uphold some. Just that we should do so for reasons that have nothing to do with religion or morals. Taking the above example of the commandment that 'thou shalt not kill', it's probably a good idea to keep that law in place because I don't want you to kill me.
