| Scientific Naturalists Have No Reason To Be Proud Of Their Minds |
| Scientific naturalists believe that the physical universe is all there is. Physical, chemical, electrical laws through cause and effect explain everything. Basically it is energy and matter and that is it. One implication is that if this explains everything, then it explains the mind, our thoughts, desires, actions, behaviors, and so forth. This means that our thoughts and actions are all DETERMINED, which means it all is the result of cause/effect and automatic natural laws. This rules out anything such as free will, agency, responsibility, choice, creativity, etc. |

If this is true, which the scientific naturalist, must accept, if he is honest; then his mind is
nothing to be proud of because all his thoughts were determined without any choice in the matter.
Yet, the scientific naturalist seems very proud of his mind; how can this be? |

No.
A human being should always be Proud.
Of their minds, and of their professional work/Productivity,
Of their bodies and their sexuality. And most of all of their family. |

So i started writing on the other side and began to switch my position. I am not a scientific
naturalist or an atheist, but if i were, i would still be judging myself by the achievements of
others. If i were excelling in my intellectual achievement compared to my peers, i think that i
could still take pride in the fruits of my efforts. If anything there would be little to temper
that pride if I were to continue to excel. I really don’t see a naturalist saying, ‘I am
nothing, for nature doeth the works’.
The individual is still capable of varying degrees of accomplishment. To not take pride in
accomplishment would be unnatural. |
