| School Uniforms Are Definitely A Good Thing. |
| School uniforms can prevent students to be judged by how they look, and meanwhile can save parents money from buying designed clothes. |

School unifiorms reduce social divisions between the rich and poor.
They also help people feel part of a group |
| |

Yes, it is a good thing and only people with children who are invested in their children's education
can honestly comment. Why? Because we are the ones experiencing it every single day! We see the
benefits. School is a place to receive an education, not "for" or "against" on the type of clothes
you wear. It is not a fashion show.
It forces kids to get to know each other too. When I went to school, you knew who the jocks were,
the heads, the preps, etc. With uniforms, you can't stereotype based on what the other is wearing.
You have to actually learn about them. Plus, with those kids who are less fortunate, they are not
teased or ridiculed because of their clothing. |

I see a lot of against arguments for this based on a child's need/right to express individuality.
Wearing a school uniform no more takes from their individuality than a military uniform makes a
cohesive group of elite fighters.
Individuality is absolutely important and should be encouraged, but not at the expense of society.
There is a time and place for the "expression" of individuality. Those of us who live in an adult
world know that if you don't grasp the concept of where that line is drawn, it always comes back to
bite you. Teaching children otherwise is awfully irresponsible.
As much as we need to be individuals humans also have an innate desire to belong. I would submit
that the need to belong is far stronger than the need to be perceived as an individual, unless of
course we're talking about an anti-social person.
School uniforms are perfect for a private/charter school. In public school a strictly adhered to
dress code makes perfect sense. |

Did the whole private school and public school thing.
Uniforms are the obvious choice for realistic people. "cut and dry" you put the clothes on you go to
school its simple. You don't have to think.
On the other hand if you have what I like to call "style and taste" you will feel better expressing
yourself through wardrobe. Personality on your sleeve.
It's a different issue for boys and girls, but my bias is I hate clothes. :) |

Well school uniforms a good thing but instead of having trousers and shirt school can have the
particular color jean and shirts,.....you know what i am in Moscow and when i wear my school uniform
i.e. Trouser and shirt and go to school ,people think that we are restarted and we are from summer
school.therefore we can have uniform in our own country but not in other country..... |

I believe school uniforms are definitely a good idea, i have several reasons for this they are:
1. It makes students look neat, tidy and presentable
2. It gives students an understanding of equality and a sense of belonging
3. No one gets judged or bullied by their clothing because everyone is wearing the same thing
4. Your school is recognisable out in the community
5. It imposes discipline and respect
6. You don't have to worry about what to wear each day
and last but not least...
7. Outsiders can be easily identified
also.... What people are saying about school uniforms destroying children's individuality is
absolute RUBBISH!!!!! Because individuality shouldn't be shown through the clothes they wear... But
through their talents and personality....
Well that's just what i thinkā„ |

I think that we should always be made to wear school uniforms as they are a good identification if
some if hurt or being in a bad situation. When you wake up on school morning you know what to wear. |

Even a dorky girl looks good in those school uniform. I think I might buy one for my wife. I'm such
a pig. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
It's a good thing because by wearing school dress we look like the student of school and our new
image is formed |

I agree. It removes competition which can cause a lot of stress, especially for those who can't
afford designer/named clothes. For that reason alone it is well worth it in my opinion. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I have three reasons for it:
(1) It teaches civility
(2) Creates a more pleasant environment
(3) You do not have to go through the 'stress' of getting dressed each morning. (OK, I know, this
one is a bit useless) |

I am in total agreement. If one wants to fit in in society, they must fit a predetermined idea of
conformity. If one doesn't fit into the idea of conformity, they are labeled as outcasts, and are
subsequently cast aside by societies. Most vulnerable, of course, are children, because they are
the most dependent on their peers. They also take longer to recover from a "outcast" label because
they will eventually believe it themselves. It is a sad world, but we must do whatever we can to
make it better. |

School uniforms are a good thing, it gives the whole student body unity, where they would not if
they chose their own clothes.
It stops bulling due to unfashionable clothes |

I think that school uniforms are a good thing.
I'm 17 years old and the only thing I wear at school is the school uniform.
This means that I can get up and not worry about what shirt I want to wear to match my trousers (for
example). It eliminates any bullying concerning clothes because we all wear the same.
I know individuality is not shown but little things like bracelets are, hairstyle and backpacks.
I know that I'm not going to be wearing a school uniform for years and years afterwards so what's
wrong with enduring it for a few years?
It really is not a big deal.
I just take the uniform when I get back home.j |

It is statistically proven that school uniforms make you work harder and promote fraternity between
pupils and the isea they're all in it together |
| |
|

|

|
|
Uniforms are a great things. And i don't get y u guys are against it just because you can't express
yourselves in uniforms like i mean there are many other ways you can express yourselves like your
attitude, studies, sports, games and lots more |

I agree. There is a lot less drama in the morning when a child gets ready for school if what they
are going to wear is pretty much already chosen for them. Also, there is less drama at school as
well. School uniforms have come a long way too. My nephew has a school uniform for his preschool.
Just a polo shirt and khaky pants, but still a uniform. |

To entertain this idea, we must first consider the fundamental basis of discussion. What is the
purpose of school? It is to be educated. This time of one's life is the best time for learning to
occur. The establishment of schools was not designed for anything like social advancement. If one so
chooses, the rest of his life may be to that end. But, school is in place to set the groundwork for
life, not to be life itself.
Now what must be done to enhance this focus in students to the highest extent? I would say uniform
dress to where at least one distraction is withdrawn from the already cluttered mind of the k-12
student. |

I'm totally for it because there are bunches of other ways to show your personality. I'm doing a
persuasive essay on how uniforms do not destroy individuality so anyone have any ideas to help me
get an A? |

School Uniforms are really good...
Lets say you wake up in the morning and you can't figure out what to wear, but with school uniforms
you don't have to think about what to wear. It gives you way more time to eat breakfast with your
family and do your hair, especially if your a girl... School uniforms have really changed the minds
of my friends.
In a public school you have to deal with the peer pressures of being cool.. Lets say you walking
down the hallway dressed like-let say- Selena Gomez. Her outfits expresses the way she is, fun and
exciting. And a couple of peppers comes up to you and insults the way dress because it could be so
last season or because its not the way they describe as cool. The next day you end up dressing like
a Abercrombie & Fitch wearing American Eagle Lovin pepper. (Not that there's something wrong with
that)
But the fact that she rather be cool then be comfortable with herself... Think to yourself for this
question... Would you rather wear clothes that are not how you express yourself and have friends who
secretly hate you or have friends that won't care how you dress as lond as your yourself.
Ok I totally got off topic...
I know that school uniforms don't allow you to express yourself but there are a lot of other ways to
express your individuality besides your clothes. You can express it by the type of attitude you have
towards other people.
That's why I approve school uniforms.... |

They are a good thing to stop people from judging people by their clothes |
| |
|
| |
|

It takes a lot of worry about looks away and you never have to stress about what to wear ever
again:) |

I think that they're not as bad as people think they are. I mean i looked it up on wikipedia and
some schools use T-shirts |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I don't think they're that bad i mean most of the time they are less expensive than getting the
latest fabs. And there are so much OPTIONS it doesn't destroy individuality |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I thought it would stop people from judging me on my looks WRONG! People still judge you on your
shoes, your hair, your jewelry, if you wore the same uniform outfit, if your uniform is clean. But
it does help stop some of the judging.
The only thing i like about the uniforms is they fit me and i don't have to worry about what to wear
in the morning. In middle school I would not go to school because I wouldn't have anything to wear. |

Uniforms. They really aren't that bad.
I go to a Private Middle School, and this is the first year we had to wear uniforms. Last year I
thought, Oh my gosh, No mom transfer me to a different school, No I will not wear them.
But to figure out there not all that bad.
We don't have to wear dresses and skirts if your a girl, or a suit and tie if your a guy.
We just have to wear blue or khaki pants, and polos. We can wear any kind of sweatshirt, or shoes.
It really isn't that bad.
I can also see a change in my fellow peers attitudes. They aren't being so snobby. For ir being a
Private school it costs a lot of money to go there so most of the students parents... Have........
Money. So they can't afford that nice clothes.
But some people at my school can't afford nice clothes, so this year there really isn't much making
fun of because we are all basically wearing the same thing.
Yes, they are a little dorky when you go out in public, but the schools are doing it for great
reasons.
Uniforms are a great thing. |

|

Expressing individuality? I'm sorry, but what are schools for, education and discipline, or
'expressing individuality'? If that includes wearing mini-skirts and parading down the corridor as
though it were a catwalk, then (as nice as that would be for some) it would seriously jeopardise the
meaning of school for most pupils. |
| |
|
| |

So many people argue that uniforms take away individuality, but rather it gives it. If you have to
rely and cloths to give a personality, then you must not have much of one in the first place.
Uniforms instruct kids on how to dress and act. When at work you have much of the same thing.
While uniforms may not be the BEST they defiantly are good. It begins to separate the line between
your social life and school. While school should be fun, it still is not a social free-for-all.
You go to learn and the uniforms begin to set the standard that should be given to you. It gives
the school an air of a profession atmosphere. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
It depends on who you are- they are okay. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Independent schools should have uniforms, because it give them unity. However, for public schools,
it is unfair to impose clothing restrictions on what could be one's only source of education. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Yes because some kids are less fortunate to buy expensive things |
