Satan Is Not Evil.
The way I see it, he must have more good than evil in him because he punishes those who have sinned.

I've long since believed that Satan was a guy who had opinions that didn't match the Almighty, so he was kicked out of the club for angels and got a crappy gig in the underworld. Its not that he's necessarily evil, but perhaps he isn't exactly an altar boy either. I think Satan just catches a bad wrap sometimes.

I just don't buy into the hype of Hell being this fire pit completely covered in darkness. I think Hell looks like a pimped out hotel, especially for some of the Devil's more prominent guests. I mean, why would Satan treat his prized minions bad anyway? He's probably a businessman who knows how to get the best out of his people.

There is no such thing as good or evil.
Simply a diverse lifestyle
We all evolve at a different rate
To imply there is right or wrong is to suggest we have a soul /spirit
AND WE KNOW THAT AINT SO

And, what exactly is the connection between good vs. evil with our having souls/spirits?

And please explain how you know (for a fact) that we don't have a soul.

It always seemed to me that certain characters in the bible ‘evil’ betrayals were intrinsically necessary to the plot line that results in moral lessons that the bible tries to convey. Without the Lucifer’s pride the bible would have no antagonist. Without Judas’s betrayal Jesus couldn’t have died for anyone’s sins. So it seems to me that Satan within the parameter of the biblical mythos is really performing a required service, a service that considering his angelic origin, he’s probably not much good at and most likely hates. If you’ve seen the true evil that human’s are capable of you might begin to suspect that the diabolical would most likely take lessons from us.

Well if you believe in a religion with a god or gods, etc there has to be a Satan or a negative character to keep it balanced. Satan actually means light. The reason why was because he wouldn't bow down to man. But he is both because he punishes the sinners but the question is is it his right to?

Satan means opposer or adversary. Not light. And why is it his right to? If it is, then do I have a right over you? Satan is a man because he says he is God but is no better than a man. Satan deserves no exaltation, hypothetical or literal.

Satan does not exist. The IDEA of Satan does, however. Therefore I will argue this in that basis alone.
I agree that in the Christian view of Satan's role, he is both an influence of sin and a punish er of the wicked. In the first of the 2 views, I believe that it is not Satan that tempts people but rather, people just being people. It is in our nature to go the path of least resistance. Therefore, Satan is not influencing anyone. It is the fear of Death and what happens to those deemed "wicked" that people are afraid of. This means that Satan actually serves a purpose for good rather than evil. He is the ultimate "bad cop" of the good cop-bad cop partnership.

This is also why the Christian belief in armageddon is also ridiculous. If Satan punishes sinners, then his is a truly complementary role to that of God and vital for a state of balance. If there is to be a war between heaven and hell, then it also makes sense that Hell is NOT a place of punishment and that horrible behavior and sins would be rewarded rather than the opposite. Also, you find both Heaven and Hell not to be the places you'd expect them to be. Think of it this way...if you've ever played any sports at school in gym class you'll understand my point. Take volleyball for example. Each team is taking turns picking players. Hell picks this AWESOME player that happens to play EVEN BETTER with one of the other guys that hasn't been picked yet. Now, does team Heaven pick who they WANT to pick, or the guy that plays TOP NOTCH with the guy already on team Hell.

If this was the real case, then don't expect Hitler to be in Hell. Would Heaven really want a man THAT EVIL that could get an entire country to follow in his craziness commanding an army of troops in Hell. I think not. Better a benchwarmer on team Heaven than an opponent.

Heaven/Hell, God/Satan, Good/Evil...they are all subjective. Therefore, not real.

Are you lost? You are comparing Heaven and Hell to teams? And assigning the infrastructure of heaven and hell as teams?

You philosophy of least resistance is nothing more than people looking for the easiest laziest way out of doing things. That has nothing to do with influence, or what people learn to like over a period of time.

So i don't really believe in an actual entity of satan. However, i do believe in a certain polarity of good and evil. Each having elements that are influential upon each of us and some perhaps actual agents of those people. I there is such an agent who works on behalf of the polarity of this negativity then he dwells in cruelty and hate. There is a certain power that is derived from these polarities and if there is a "satan", he then does indeed possess evil, just as some possess good.

Omg..! Use your brains for once..!! SATAN ENJOYS PUNISHING PEOPLE..HE ENJOYS TORTURING THEM..

Think..would people even NEED to go to Hell if Satan didn't lure them there..? Would they need to be punished if satan didn't fill their minds and hearts with hate and anger..?

No..if Satan was soo good then why is he feeding peoples minds with hate and evil..? He does this so that they loose their chances of Paradise and can not get in heaven, so that he can hve his disgusting 'pleasure' of punishing them for the things he made them do..

Satan is evil..and his followers (Astaghfirullah) have been mislead in2 his trap..be strong and fight against him..he is a liar..u will gain nothing from following him..he is just waiting till the day u die, so that he can punish u worse of all..he will torture you as a reward for following him..be strong and follow the right path..only then wil u get ur reward..=] ameen..x

This... Makes no sense.... Satan doesn't punish those who've sinned. He tempts those into sinning, just to ruin their lives. Satan pushes you to evil so that you can destroy your life, just as God pushes you to encounter hardships and seek love in his name. Satan tricks you into thinking of evil things and then doing them, and then astraying from the rightious path. Is Satan our parent? No, he's evil. He wants us to die within him with evil, disgusting sins bugging us.

What is evil? Satan is naughty? Or is it Satan supports holocausts?

Satan hates humans. It's not like Satan doesn't have good reason. Satan hates humans because they made God imperfect. (humans like to make God imperfect in discussions on this site at evey turn).

Satan does not want to punish humans. Satan would prefer to obliterate the nasty, inferior creatures from being. True, punishing them might make the humans dislike God more, but in the end, Satan knows that persecuting humans too much brings them to their knees. Satan learned that in World War II.

Nope. Satan has learned the best way to deal with humans is to protect their complacency. No right and wrong. It's all opinions. There is no answer to anything.

Then, just maybe, God will see that humans could care less about God.

Can somebody give me a reference where Satan punishes? Or is this just "we can make up whatever we like day"?

Evil is a perpetually altering definition which transforms according to the social norms of the majority, evil makes the ability to coexist improbable. Evil doesn't exist.

The Satan of most Christian's breaks free from his evil label the moment he condemns the hatred of society, the scum, the callous, and the murderous.

Let me say all good comes from God. All life comes from God. People have a hard time understanding how God created Satan. God made Satan. Satan was God's number one, and turned against God. Think of a King where his most loyal subject turns on him.

Now think. Is hate opposite to Love? No. Indifference is. Is Love opposite to hate? No. Indifference is. Evil is not the opposite equal power to balance good. That is why evil is lack of good. The same way darkness is lack of light. Think of our earth, a place of darkness with candles all over it. You just have to find those candles. Light and dark don't mingle. People think they can, but down to 'atom and atom' they don't mingle.

Satan cannot be good for punishing evil. Satan is not supposed to be portrayed as God's servant who does the dirty work for God. That isn't to say God can bring good things from him. Satan if anything wants to pull people to his side. Or lure good people astray as some say. Remember my last post talking about how alike Satan parallels himself to God? What better way to trick people! Is there any better reason than this that religions look sooo bad!

So now you have an atheist version that doesn't believe in God. And now you have a religious systems, that don't believe in the right God. Which is perfect. Because look at our politically correct system. Don't say anything bad about someone. That would wrong them! We have been a free speech nation, but I challenge you to watch this free speech slowly disappear in certain circumstances.

I sympathize very little with those who hate religion and have ignorance to religion, because check it. All church histories are bad. And many say they are of the church but are liars.

I used to be an uptight a hole christian. But I have slowed down. Christian became a less fad for me, and more about how I can be loving to people. And how I can care for people. I didn't just one day become 'world's best person woo woo woo honk if you love Jesus' overnight. I am still slowly growing. I am still imperfect as ever.

You still think Satan isn't that bad? Lemme know.
