I live in the land of Sam Adams and have high respect for it. I'm not surprised it wins so many
awards consistently. But the one thing I'll add is I'm not sure there really can be such a thing as
best beer. That's kind of like having all the wines compared in a country and somehow having one be
number 1 - a subjective and somewhat bogus award. There are so many variations in beer (and wine)
and so many subjective factors for taste.
But yeah, I still agree that people who drink Sam Adams are usually appreciating the nuances of beer
a little more than someone who just wants to slam a generic weak beer until they're drunk. |

Sam Addams is an excellent brand. Nothing they put out is of less than superb quality. Considering
their whole line you may be right in assessing them as the best American beer. However there are a
number of brewers in America that have one or two beers that give Sam Addams a run for their money. |

What is a mature beer drinker? Just because it wins awards doesn't mean it's good. I hate most
movies that win awards. The people that give awards are not common individuals. They have particular
standards that do not represent the populations standards. I do recognize that there is guzzle beer
and drink beer, you're definitely right about that. For the most part, I don't drink beer for the
taste. |

Unfortunately the American brands are of no match to the European grandeur, this cannot be argued,
English beer, larger or cider is better than Americas, and Germany's equivalent is better than that,
and belgiums is better than Germany's (as a general concept of course not all brands are better, but
beer like John Smiths, and Mansfield, Bodlings, all beautiful beautiful beers (unfortunately i don't
know German brands i just know they taste good) |
