Russia Is In The Right In This Georgian Affair
Despite what the biased Western media says, Russia is in the right. The Georgians mounted a sneak attack on the Russians and Ossetians. They deserve whatever is coming to them.

No one is right. But we started this one. U.S. And Israeli military advisors trained and equipped the Georgian forces that killed 10 and injured 30 more Russian peacekeepers early in the morning of August 8, in a provocation attack that immediately escalated into a military conflict. Georgia and the Pentagon cooperate closely; Georgia has a 2,000-strong contingent supporting the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq, and Washington provides training and equipment to the Georgian military.

Saakashvili is a pitiful American fanboy. It's tragic that thousands of people have had to die just to help this guy grow up.

Despite what the neo-cons say, this has nothing to do with freedom and democracy. The quality of democracy is rather dubious in both Georgia and Russia. Freedom-champion Saakashvili had riot police disperse protesters last year and had the opposition leader thrown in prison.

While war is never good if a country wants to start a war, the country that has been started upon has every tight to fight back.

I will agree with you on this one Hidell, however, let's hope as tension rises, that it doesn't come our way. It's an ill wind that blows change! Let's hope it is an end of conflict between the two.

Once again, you're simply wrong. It really has very little to do with understanding circumstance. It will never cease to amaze me how blackness of your heart towards freedom, America, and western culture, will always outshine any opinion you give that might be right.

Rubbish. There is no one in the right. Russia has been stirring tension in the region for years. Georgia has been flirting with the west, and the west is flirting back.
A simple political trap, Georgia walked into, (bet that Britain and America wish they could have played the game as well in Iraq), Russia wanted this more than the Georgians. The Georgian president must have been banking on Western backing, who puts there foot in a bear trap?
Putin now looks like a master able to play Democracy at it's own game, except better. After Iraq, our lot look like monkeys.

 I am now not sure that America never pulled off a master stroke. Allow the Georgian president to make a fool of himself, when they could have pulled on the reigns, Russia has got to react, and in true Russian style, does so heavy handedly, Poland gets a reminder, and the Americans get their missile shield.
When Russia and America start playing with each other, the whole world suffers.
