Rap is boring, repetitive, and unoriginal anymore. All the rap music is about the same thing. Rock, on the other hand, with all of its genres and sub-genres, has a lot more meaning behind it than getting shot in the ghetto.

This isn't a debate. Our culture is based off rock, you cant argue this.

Rock is for many reasons better then the cr@p people call rap.

How many people can play guitar or drums or bass or sing and manage to write their own music and lyrics and work together in a band of maybe 4 to 5 people? Not many. Now how many people can talk fast to a beat, much MUCH more.

When you twist it like that you sound right. How about if the question is weighted in a different way. How many people can write fresh, original lyrics and time them to a beat, or scratch and mix 2 records together seamlessly. Not many. Now how many people can play a guitar. much MUCH more.

Rock will always be better than rap, rock is original and creative rap is just a load of guys pretending to be gangsters and boasting.

What makes rap non-creative or unoriginal? Not all hiphop is bragging and/or gangster. That would be the same as me saying all rock is about sex and drugs or goat slaughtering. There is room for all forms of music. I like rock just as much as Jazz, funk, reggae, soul, hiphop, folk, classical, house, trance, etc etc. All have good examples and bad examples.

Just out of interest can you tell me a few groups you rate highly?

History will - has already begun to - acknowledge rock music as one of the great art movements in history. The Beatles are already legendary.

Yeah, I agree. Rap isn't really music; it's noise.

Yeah I think so, but I'm not gonna go and insult rap because I know someone's gonna post a comment saying otherwise.

I like a lot better than rap. It is more musical and the people have a clue as to what they are doing.

Yes it is the best because it doesn't talk about all the bad stuff.

Some rock talks about some pretty nasty stuff, even worse than rap.

Impossible to say one is better than the other. They both have good and bad acts. Bon Jovi for example is not as good as Public Enemy yet Puff Daddy is not as good as Jimi Hendrix.

You can NOT compare Puff Daddy to Hendrix. they are completly different. Puff Daddy sounds like someone who owns the weed smoking business. he has the absolute minimum of talent.
