Richard Dawkins, Whilst Having Some Good Points About Theology, Is Much Too One-Sided About It.
I respect him immensely, and find his works incredibly interesting. My problem is, he takes Atheism to an extreme level and makes himself (and other Atheists) look bad by flatly refusing to engage in an actual debate. Instead, he seems to throw people off by saying "You're just wrong", which doesn't do anything for his cause.

He's deluded, but smart.

Dawkins is a great scientist and very poor philosopher.

Also, his ideas for what replaces religion (Memes and so on) are at least as weak as the ones he argues against.

I have absolutely no respect for Dawkins. He is a pretentious, arrogant twit with a superiority complex

I wouldn't go so far as that, I just think he can be a little too curt at times. E.g. *Makes point* *Someone makes counter-point* "Shut up, you're wrong!"
I have heard him say those words a few times, and it doesn't really cut it.
Although I do hold a hell of a lot of respect for him otherwise.

I agree with Evileye, he is a brilliant mind and I like his works having read a few of them including the God Delusion. He is a rationalist and very intelligent and I think that religious institution would love to try anything to discredit him.

I agree with everything you've said there, it's more the way he fobs people off sometimes. "You're wrong" without further elaboration can be a little unconvincing.

He's a rationalist and expert in his field and his books on evolution are well-written and understandable. I don't think he's extreme at all. I think his view of organised religion and how it claims to 'know' the answer and bends everything to fit that answer is also rational, as he doesn't set himself up as 'knowing' the answer, he goes where the evidence leads and would change his view if there was evidence to the contrary as any scientist should.

He is an idiot and makes atheist's look bad. He is sticking up to what he believes - thats not one sided at all.

I feel I could argue against christianity better...

An Oxford science professor an idiot? Really? You set the bar pretty high. As for making atheists look like idiots, no, he makes them look rational because that's what they are.
