Religion Should NOT Be Banned.
Do you know what happens when religion is banned and persecuted? Let's take a stroll over to places like Soviet Russia, Communist China, and Cambodia. Thousands of organized atheists persecuted and murder religion. THOUSANDS of atheists, not just one.

Your statement about the persecution of religion....the Christian church experienced its greatest growth during periods of persecution. So in a way by persecuting religion you would be doing it a favor.

But, no, religion is protected by the Constitution. Each person has a right to their beliefs.

Religion CAN NOT be banned. You can't tell people what to believe. You can only tell them what to tell you they believe. Or present a logical argument as to why another belief is more likely, but I've found that that rarely works.

And since you can't ban it, why try?

Religion should definitely NOT be banned. Religion is just a way of life. Blaming religion for every evil in the world is silly. We could find another scapegoat just as easily. Some people blame women. Some people blame men. Some people blame money. Some people blame the devil.

My point is that people have every right to choose to be second class citizens and that's how I view religious people.

If religion was banned so many wars would be stopped. So many lives wouldn't be wasted... People would get along easier as there would be one less thing to bicker about. No religion would be amazing! What was it that the good old communists said? Religion is the opium of the people, so wise.

I was really stuck on this one.

Religion is all a bunch of lies to give people false hope that there is something after death. They spend most of their time praying over some unreal God. And, some religions are ridiculed and exploited because of the things they believe in.

OK ,look at China, now the worlds strongest and most deadly s and most progressive , the only thing religion does is, put fears and reasons for extremists to cause so many outrages acts with a reason and support for people behind the religion .

The Christians were responsible for the murder of six million Jews and a hundred years of slavery in the US.

Your dogmatism and selective memory blinds you to your own religion's actions. All atrocities were caused by people who were certain their views were right and felt they could force them onto others.

People such as yourself fit that description better than I. I am and was against atheist states like China because its government is unethical; you, on the other hand, support some/many Christians even when they disagree with you because they are furthering some of your ambitions.

I reject atheist extremists when they are wrong. You reject christian extremists when they are embarrassing to your cause; until then, you side with them.

Go read about the "Dreyfus Affair" where French military officers attempted to convict a French Jew of espionage. It was only one of the hundreds of instances of hate and violence by Christians against Jews for no valid reason, and is considered the key moment in the rise of anti-semitism leading to Nazism's "final solution":

 I can always find your comments, they always smack of total ignorance...Christians weren't the cause of 6 million Jews dying and man who claimed to be a Christian who was a lunatic convinced the ignorant masses to do it for him. Slavery in the US was started by the British..white endentured slaves, that could never get out of debt. If they had money, they could buy their freedom and it was the same for blacks in the US. If they had money they could buy their freedom. As to the topic of the debate, Religion should not be banned because people just like yourself would proliferate and kill everyone, your attitude towards Christians is no different than hitlers for the Jews, and he was part jewish.

While I'm not about to suggest that we ban religion worldwide, I will say that the planet would be a much better place to be without religion at all. Imagine the good we could do if everyone was RATIONAL and LOGICAL and had a clue how to think CRITICALLY about the things around them.

Lol you may not realize but religion is what causes every single war on this disgusting planet. It religion that makes people kill innocent children over in other countries all because the church told them to! If anything religion is the root of all evil not money and it should be banned.
