Religion Has No Place In Schools
Just to confirm, I am against the interference of religion in schools, and the 'encouragement' (enforcement) of a religion which the school is biased to on innocent pupils. I am NOT against religious education. There is a difference.

There is no place in school for religion. Relgion should be taught by parents (if they want to). My sister and her entire class think that religion is a waste of time in school and she had an experience where one of her friends was sent out of the class for not taking part in a session where they were meditating. It's stupid.

I think religion doesn´t belong to schools
because: While the catholic/evangelic or whatever else educated children take their lessons at school the atheistic children have to waste their time.
And because I think if you go as a child in this lessons you don´t think of god or whatever you believe in but you you think "shit- that´s wasted time".
So it more has a bad then a good effect.

Living in Utah, the schools are ran by the LDS community. I am sick of being the outcast due to my OWN religion. I think it is time to add various religions in schools.

Of course religious practice has no place in public schools. The United States constitution, Supreme Court, and many other regional courts across the country have made that point fairly clear.

Completely agree. Everyone should have the right to practice their chosen religion but it must never be part of schools general curriculem. Better to educate children on the history of religions and how they start so they can understand the function it plays in the world. They will then be better placed to look at the subject objectively.

Religious indoctrination has no place in schools. It's a little hard to remove religion as it's an intensely individual thing that believers carry with them wherever they go. So long as people aren't obnoxious about it, there's nothing wrong with praying to oneself if you feel the need, but making a show of it, trying to convery others, trying to be holier than thou... That has no place.

If you want that, go to church.

Yeah, you do make an excellent point there,
my goodness, I would hate to see youngsters
arguing about religion the way adults do.
Some of them shoot up schools because of
bullies, I would hate to see them on a religious
tyrate.

Those who oppose a separation of church and state are dishonest thugs. When the rabidly religious say, "We want religion in school!", what they really men is "We want OUR religion in school!"

Theists want to have their religion. The godbots want you to have their religion.

Religion has a place everywhere. I think that there is nothing wrong with that and that people should be allowed to believe what they want. Just because there are many people who don't believe in anything doesn't mean that the religious people should be different to them. It should be allowed in schools if the people want to.

Religous schools believe that they
are raising religous children and hopefully
establishing a religious society. Now let's
look at public schools, children that go to church on Sundays, should the church not
encourage students to study hard and parents to help them study and be pro-active?

Yes, but there are different means through which one can exercise one's efforts other than religion; said practice should not interfere with education.
