Hip Hop is one of many great forms of music. I used to be a big fan but it has waned in recent
years. Amongst the best was Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest, Gangstarr from the golden era of
the late 80's early 90's. In recent years the best I have heard is the British Roots Manuva. I
hate Kanye, 50 cent, and P Diddy. Like all music there is good and bad, to write off a whole genre
is strange.
There have been SOME rap songs I genuinely liked, but the vast majority of rap is just loud and
obnoxious, and it's now guilty like the other music styles before it of reaching that point where
all the songs follow essentially the same formula. Once upon a time it was original, now it's milk
toast wrapped in attitude.
Rap music is one of the most annoying and pointless genres of music there is. All it seems to be is
a whole load of people wearing far too much jewelry, talking to a beat with weird finger jestures
and their hand constantly pulling their crotch. Where's the appeal in that!?!
Same with rock music. Just blokes with big hair prancing about a stage waggling their tongues and making the horns gesture with their hands. How have you managed to lump such a huge genre into one small soundbite.
Only if you like that kind of...errr hard to actually type it out...music. I can appreciate what it
takes to create it I just have no cultural or social connection with it. I never liked the orig
rapper Johnny Cash. Lol I'm more of a jazz, funk, rock, blues, classical person.
