Why involve the parent's decision? Who are the parents to tell the kid they must, or must not, have
a baby? What if the kids' got the kind of parents that dream of grandbabies, or parents that never
want grandbabies because they think it'll make them feel old. The moment the parents are invloved
their morals and beliefs come into effect. All of this has nothing to do with what the teen might
want, which in the end it's her body, her decision, her life. |

Do we forget that not all parents will lend support to their child.
It does not promote teen sex, neither does the contraceptive, what promotes teen sex is the simple
fact that hormones race through a teenagers body, me being one of them, and sex is not such a taboo
subject as it was a couple of decades ago. |

Sometimes parents are the reason they are getting the abortion in the first place, and some people
would rather have no one no at all except for maybe a close friend |

We are not children or teenagers... We actually prefer to get referred to as Young People,
i do agree that all young people should have the support of their parents but what you do fail to
realise is that not all parents are supportive of their daughters/sons, this has a massive impact on
young peoples decisions, it is a major procedure to go through and can have traumatic effects,
However i disagree that All young people do not have the emotional maturity to deal with this
situation, if a young person can go through many traumatic life experiences, such as rape, sexual
abuse, witness of death or suicide... And cope why cant they have an abortion and cope?, if a young
person can give birth to a beautiful baby and raise them by themselves and cope - and without the
aid of any parents, then why cant they have an abortion and cope? Every action has a consequence,
and young people know this, they do think of the actions that they may take and the effect and
impact on their lives and others can cause, however they can also feel trapped and have no one to
turn to, which can cause them to take or make dramatic choices or decisions, i am not saying that
all young people can cope with the impact of all the events, feelings and ongoing effects that such
a choice or decision may have, but young people ARE conscious of their own selves and opinions they
have a right to be their own person and have their own life their own choices and not to be thought
silly, stupid, irresponsible, immature or even someone who just "opens their legs", accidents do
happen, in adults too? So why not young people? |

At no time this is promoting teen sex I'm clearly wanting input that in certain situations where
teens get pregnant they should have the choice to abort or not ? Should the parents be involved or
what if the teen does not have that connection with her and she does not say anything and 7 t0 8
months later her parents notice and it's to late then what? |

If the United States government enforces the laws that are already on the books, requiring parental
consent for teenage abortion, the amount of abortions in the United States will decrease
dramatically. After the Roe vs. Wade decision in 1970 the abortion rate skyrocketed. Therefore,
conversely it is safe to say that if the United States government enforces the law that parental
consent for abortions of abortions under eighteen, it will decrease greatly. Teenagers have
accounted for seventeen percent of abortions for all women. That money used from the federal
government paying the abortions can be used for other things. Aren’t the parents the legal
guardians for their children until they reach 18? They should have the exclusive right to make any
or all of the medical decisions for their children. |

Of course a parent or at least someone that really loves them should be present (and I don't mean,
the young girls boyfriend) I work with traumatized people who have had abortions, it's not something
that should be gone thru with your school teacher or some young girlfriend. When the little baby is
being ripped to pieces, being taken out, they often scream and cry out, the mothers are often NEVER
the same unless they get help. Their young girlfriend often just make it worse, freaking out. |

ABORTION IS A SERIOUSE ISSUE THAT must involve not only the father but also the grand parents. As we
know most abortions are a result of sex before or out of marriage and if this is allowed it will
give an easy way out for both parties and this may lead to habituation |

No! Every child needs the support of their parents. Abortion is a serious procedure and certainly
one where someone, especially a child, will need support. No teenager should go through an abortion
on their own. The parents should go along because the teenager is their responsibility.
I think it is up to the teenager whether they choose to keep their child or not, but the parents
should always be there to support whatever decision they make or to offer whatever advice they can.
I don't believe that any teenager is emotionally mature enough to deal with an abortion on their
own. They're still very young themselves and they need their parents to be there along the way. |

I don't think that Teens should do abortion without their parents knowing. I think that the parent
has to know what is happening, because it's their responsibility. How would you like it if your kid
gets pregnant and you don't have a clue about it? |

That sounds like it would promote abortion as a means of birth control for young people. While I'm
pro-choice, parental involvement and influence with their kids is essential for the child to develop
into a socially adept person capable of making good choices. |

Absolutely not, except in extreme circumstances. Until a teen is 18 years old, they are the legal
responsibility of their parents and a child cannot, by law, have any medical procedure without
parental consent. If you don't like that, keep your legs closed. |

No...for one thing that's promoting teen sex because in this day and age that will just turn into
teens using abortion as a form of birth control and having sex without a care in the world as far as
pregnancies go. For another thing teen are teen for a reason they are under 18!!! If we let them do
this are we gonna let them drink and smoke too? |
