| Granted there can be some very good Ports and they fill a nitch, but too many are simply grape juice with the sugar intact and a big dose of alcohol thrown in. Many popular mass produced brands often nothing unique nor complex - just the sugar and the booze. And port wines often get more than twice the store shelf space of sherries and 10 times the space of Madeiras or marsalas. They're overrated. |
