Personally i say no they shouldn't be allowed but is is just the kids choice to bring it or not |

It rots the teeth and it makes kids jittery and gives them sugar they dont need. It makes them crash
thus, making their grades go down from passin gout from a sugar high |

What if the kids get drunk??? Haha |

I do not allow my children to drink soda and I would be appauled if they began selling it in our
schools. We would just be feeding into the problem with obesity in our children. Shouldn't we be
trying to create a healthier school environment? |

If kids have more caffine in them, they won't be able to concentrate. Caffine won't make kids
awake, just hyper |

The food they serve now at schools is unhealthy enough, no soda pop......what in the world happened
to the four food groups?
School food was great when I went...now I pack my kids lunches. |

No, they are unhealthy. I have spent a lifetime saying I would break the habit and I turned 44 just
recently...still drinking the caffeine like I can't live without it. It is a terrible habit, one
that is hard to break. I quit smoking cigarettes long ago - but can not give up caffeine. I don't
think a law is required that says college kids can't have them but elementary through high school
students should not have them. That does not take any freedom's away from adults. (Adults who vote
I should say.) |

I think pop should be allowed but don't you think that too much will cause unwanted obesity and
rotten teeth?...... |

Um if they like to drink soda, then they can drink it out of school. A reason kids would need soda
in schools is if they cant have it at home. |

No, When we got our soda taken away from out school I thought it was a horrible idea but actually it
is probably the smartest choice our school made.
Most kids already have hyper problems and take pill , soda would just make it worse.
If for taste most schools have other drinks. Sport Drinks, Water, Juices and other drinks (Ice-T ,
lemonade).
So no there is no need for Soda in school. |

It is not a wise idea to get children addicted to caffeine at a young age, nor is it any smarter to
offer them drinks full of sugar on a regular basis. Rather than selling pop in school, cafeterias
and dispenser machines should offer a range of fruit juices and spring water.
Many children are already hyperactive and some take ritalin and other medication for a range of
conditions or to control behavioural problems. Giving them a sugar high by offering syrupy drinks is
likely to exacerbate these problems.
There is plenty of opportunity for kids to enjoy pop outside of school, so there is no compelling
need to have these drinks in between classes during the school day. |

Pop is not only unhealthy, but it causes a distraction (several students would shake the cans, open
them slowly for long noises, and crumble the cans when finished). Also, when a kid would
accidentally spill his pop, a sticky mess would result- something no one wants to clean up. If kids
want to stay up in school, then they should go to bed earlier. Let water be the only drink allowed
in school. |
