Polygamy is just a fancy way of saying adultery.

If you want to have sex with lots of people, then do it.
But it is not the deeds of a MONOGAMOUS person: Marriage, indicates you both will no do anyone but
one another (except yourself too ;-)
But, marriage is for two not 50 conglomerates: That's a bastardization of the entire conceptual
thought marriage was born of an idea to make a unit of two into one singular entity.

I live in Nevada, which has many members of the Church of Latter-day Saints -- Mormons, in the
vernacular.
The Mormons were forced to migrate to neighboring Utah because of their polygamous beliefs. They
needed to rapidly build up their population in order to survive in the harsh desert climate, and
multiple wives meant more babies.
Thee are two types of multiple marriages: Polygamy, one husband, multiple wives; and polygyny, one
wife, multiple husbands. The latter is very rare in world cultures because men in traditional
societies are better able to provide for multiple wives, rather than the opposite.
The polygamy of the Mormons was so repugnant to other Christians that they were forced to drop the
practice. It is a doorway to exploitation, as most of the women in polygamous relationships are very
young and wedded to older men. Polygamy is still practiced illegally, with a rare husband
prosecuted. |
