Poetry Is An Unnecessary Luxury In The 21st Century
I don't think we need it now as we have no time. And also that it is a fast growing world.

If the argument is we have no time, than by logic, all other aspects of human creativity would be unnecessary. Poetry, just like music, art, novels, and theatre, is an important part of what it is to be human because it is a direct representation of what sets us apart: Our emotions and desires. To say it is unnecessary in our world is saying we don't need artistic expression, which all of us do.

There will always be people that find the time to read poetry. Poetry is not a necessity, but it is, for many, a luxury worth pursuing.
