| Plastic Surgery Should Be Banned |
| The surgery which purely aims to improve apprearance is defined or considered as plastic surgery here. Recently, lots money has been spent on plastic surgery as we are more judged on appearance. If there is a ban on plastic surgery, it may make people accept what they are and shift their attention to other things. Also, plastic surgery may put people at a health risk for disease, infection, and even death |
Plastic surgery is vain and unwise in the extreme. Risky at best, and is most ill-advised. People
were invented to be unique and are only really individual when as God made them to be.
Plastic surgery should be banned. |
| |
| |
| |
Ya! People should show there real beauty |
| |
| |
| |
It is a great idea! Plastic surgery is dangerous! |
| |
| |
| |
I believe plastic surgery should be banned when serving vanity! However, you must also take in to
consideration that people who have had tragic accidents require plastic surgery to help
disfigurements. In this case i'm all for it. At the end of the day vain people pay for it and if it
goes dreadfully wrong i can only say will it serves you right! |
| |
| |
| |
I think having plastic surgery purely for vanity is stupid and dangerous!!! |
| |
| |
| |
Yes. Except for those born deformed or person in car-wrecks. |
| |
| |
| |
Plastic surgery is a giant waste of money and it only applies to those who think they are so ugly
that they need to be operated on to look pretty or skinny or look like someone else. The only
exception is if a train got derailed and you ended up looking like dog-doodie. Plastic surgery is
for shallow and closed-minded people who think that looks are everything. Well, they can jump off a
cliff for all I care because if that's what they think of themselves, then they are nothing more
than the scum of society. |
| |
| |
| |
Unless you have a bad accident and you need face reconstruction or something then it's fine but a
breast enlargement or a nose jobs, there's no point. Learn to love yourself the way you were born! |
| |
| |
| |
It should be banned because they are unnatural, ugly, and can cause health problems. If god wanted
you to have a certain bra size or a small stomach then god would of made you that way and like being
overweight can be solved by diet and exercise. I think plastic surgery is just a waste of time and
money and it is a lazy way and an unsafe way to look so called 'beautiful." |
| |
| |
| |
Plastic surgery should only be legal IN the case of reconstructive plastic surgery from someone
whose been into an accident or someone whose been externally disfigured. Otherwise people will keep
wasting time money and valuable resources trying to look younger thinner and better when in
actuality all people are beautiful in all stages of life just the way they were made to be |
| |
| |
| |
I agree profesori would have plastic surgery either |
| |
| |
| |
I think that plastic surgery should be outlawed everywhere because it is dangerous and above all, it
is fake. We should be proud of who we are. God made us unique in his eyes and we should not try to
alter or change that. In many cases, people are having plastic surgery and they are getting sick
from infections and other complications. It endangers our health. To me, there is nothing positive
in having plastic surgery. You may look good after plastic surgery, but what will you look like when
you are old? I would never have plastic surgery, even if it were free. |
| |
| |
| |
Plastic surgery should be banned if a person is trying to alter his or her natural features to look
beautiful. I think such trends are absurd where plastic surgery will give birth to a superficial
race of spending insane amounts of money just to look more attractive. This will result in a complex
of ugliness in people who can not afford such a treatment. People should have to worry about more
substantial things like education and skills etc.
However, in the case of an accident or mishap that resulted into an injury or damage to the body the
patient should be entitled to plastic surgery or cosmetic treatment. |
| |
| |
| |
There is a good case for banning it on non-medical, essential grounds.
There is something to be said for putting up with the way we are and this makes accepting people for
what they are much better.
Too many people are taking the chance of plastic surgery to what they see as enhancing their looks
and figures when there was nothing wrong in the first place.
Cosmetic surgery has been known to disfigure people and to cause a lot of harm and distress. Many
young men and women who undergo surgery may regret this is later life.
Cosmetic surgery can become a real psychological problem to people who don't know when to stop. It's
costly and the money could be spent on less selfish and better causes.
This type of surgery for medical reasons is totally different and should be allowed to those who
truly need it. |

The specialty I’m wanting to go into is plastic surgery. Many have a good debate as to the
negative and I have been open minded enough to look at both sides of the argument. I still stand
proudly I might add pro plastic surgery. In a perfect world it would be great if we all accepted
ourselves and one another. This is not a perfect world. I understand some may think all plastic
surgery clients are trying to achieve the superficial fake look. That’s not in every case there
are those who have been severely burnt, assaulted, or “deformed” etc. Some say these
“victims” are more deserving of plastic surgery. In my perspective this is highly hypocritical.
If were wanting us all to be equal why do we treat those who have been burnt, assaulted, deformed
etc as if they need fixing. What makes them any less beautiful? And those who apply God into the
matter is this not part of the life plan for them are they not trying to play God by fixing
something that has come upon them? I’m not putting the people who have gone through these
incidents down. I’m simply trying to make you wrap your mind around the entire matter at hand. If
we all didn’t change anything about ourselves we wouldn’t use razors, makeup, clothing, body
sprays and such to improve ourselves. Now I do acknowledge shaving your beard is at the lesser end
opposed to a face lift on a level of extremity. All in all though we do find ways to improve
ourselves and the real beauty is our choice of what we want if we go around banning all
opportunities were missing out on educating ourselves whether the result is bad or good I think a
lesson is to always been learned. Fact of the matter is that it’s already been introduced to the
world and if we whisk it away people will still find ways, people even do that now by going to black
market surgeons. I respect the certified surgeons who dedicate a good deal of their life to this and
are willing to trust themselves with someone’s life in their hands. I’m not promising all
surgeries come out perfect or that it will improve your life I’m also not promising you every
board certified surgeon has your best interest because we cant judge people in groups we have to
judge them individually but that’s when were given a chance to educate yourself and that’s why
you out weigh the pros and cons of your choices and some people make rash choices and some make
smart choices. And some surgeons take physiology classes or have a councilor on staff or may even
look at the patients medical history to help them determine their choice as to whether or not based
of their morals as a surgeon they want to perform on the patient. |
| |
| |
| |
Plastic surgery should not be banned. It's their choice and if they want to look like a demented
barbie then let them. Also, plastic surgery is very important to people who have been badly burnt. |
| |
| |
| |
People think the solution to everything is to just ban things they don't like. Municipal governments
seem to think the same way, and look at all the enjoyment they're stripping from our lives. |
| |
| |
| |
Let them do whatever they want. |
| |
| |
| |
No it shouldnt be banned. If someone feels insecure about them self and plastic surgery would help
then they should get it so they can be happy. But i would never get it. |
| |
| |
| |
Plastic surgery should not be banned! Not only does it boost peoples self-esteem and make them feel
better about them selves, but it can also save peoples life sometimes. Plus, without plastic surgery
there wouldn't be the great show "Nip/Tuck" which I love to death. So plastic surgery is great. |
| |
| |
| |
Less expensive, but not banned.... |
| |
| |
| |
No.
On two conditions it should be allowed:
1. Car-Accident victims.
2. Birth-Defects. |
| |
| |
| |
No you can't ban something like that. People will always find a way if they are not happy with their
appearance. The tragedy is, in most cases they still wont be.;-)) |
| |
| |
| |
I don't think its right to be banned because if people think there ugly then they should be able to
have plastic surgery |
| |
| |
| |
Plastic surgury benefits people greatly.
What if someone survived a horrible fire and their face is so hideous that they couldnt even go out
in public without scaring people and the only thing they could do to make themselves look human
again was plastic surgury.
Also for cosmetic reasons if someone doesn't
feel good about their appearance and they have to money to get plastic surgury done then why stop
them from getting it done.
It should not be banned |
| |
| |

Why ruin your body when god wants it that way. And sometimes you can die on the table or surgery or
just look weird, |
| |
| |
| |
I don't think it should be banned....as a cosmetic surgeon in training....i would say its a way for
people to feel better about them selves.....why would you want to take away something that someone
else wants....that like me saying.....grocery shopping should be banned....you all can't eat
anymore...sorry..... :( |
| |
| |
| |
It shouldn't be banned.... Because like a lot of people have seed.. What if u do actually need it..
To reconstruct your face because of an accident or something... Bu a lot of the time people do it
out of pure vanity.. Which I'm not against coz people do strive to be perfect.. And if u wanted your
face changed in someway then fine.. Your body you do what you want... If sum1 has a big nose and has
really low self esteem and surgery will help then i think that's fine too... But people who have
like.. Excessive surgery for example.. 6 boob jobs then i believe there's a limit.. Everyone wants
to look at they're best.. Sum people will plaster them selves in makeup.... And sum people seek
surgery..its not for any1 else to say it should be banned.... |
| |
| |
| |
What about car accident victims are fire victims they should go about with mangled faces because
they can't have plastic surgery. What of those with sexual identity disorder they can't change how
they look. You are only fooling yourself if you don't like plastic surgery then talk to people
about the risks don't demand it be banned. We in America lose many rights and privileges every year
soon we will have none. Think about that the next time you get the idea that something should be
banned. |
| |
| |
| |
If u want bigger these and that go for it it never hurt anybody |
| |
| |

"If there is a ban on plastic surgery, it may make people accept what they are and shift their
attention to other things."
I know you have no proof of this because it's not true.
There is no proof that a god made us to look exactly the way we are.
Banning it has nothing to do with helping people become aware the dangers or helping them love
themselves just the way they are. If you want to help prevent young girls feeling pressured to
'fix' their faces then you should donate to charities that send speakers to high schools and help
raise awareness on the subject. |

If you mean all plastic surgery, then I am against it. Plastic surgery has too many benefits. Those
who are disfigured are given a new lease on life. Our society does not except those who are deformed
in some way. Such as some one with a rather large nose, or protruding ears as an example. I would
venture to say it is more so in women then in men. Beauty may be in the eyes of the beholder, but
not everyone will look at someone who is not perfect. |
| |
| |
| |
Why ban it, if you don't want it because your perfect then good for you, but personally if there's
something I don't like about myself and I know it can be fixed them I'm doing it! Plastic surgery
treats mental health patients, so would you ban insulin from a diabetic person? |
| |
| |
| |
I think this is a personal choice that you do have to make for yourself depending on your
circumstance. I don't look down on people for having plastic surgery, I feel bad for them because
they aren't comfortable in their own skin. The people I do look down upon are the plastic surgeons.
They could be saving lives with their skill, but instead they are giving in to our looks-based
society. |
| |
| |
| |
It is pathetic that so many people turn to surgery to improve their appearances. Honestly, most of
the time, the person looked better pre-surgery because the result is so fake looking.
This is especially true if someone has a face-lift or “boob job.” I have a morbid fascination
with watching how the silicon boobs of women in my gym do not “jiggle” like natural ones.
It is also sad when teens think that surgery can improve their lives. There have been several
incidences in the U.S. When teens kill themselves after the hoped-for increase in popularity and/or
romance does not materialize after they have had breast enhancements.
However, I disagree that cosmetic plastic surgery should be banned. Post-mastectomy surgery
increases cancer-sufferers’ self-esteem. Children’s club feet and cleft palates can be
corrected. Also, remember that plastic surgery developed in response to the reconstruction of the
deformed faces of wounded WWI soldiers. |
| |
| |
| |
Plastic surgery encompasses a number of medical problems including very serious burns and cleft lips
and this type of surgery is very important. If it is Cosmetic surgery you are referring to then I
believe it should be legal. People should have the option for it and ultimately there is a very high
demand for cosmetic surgery. However, i believe that there should be more regulations on the age at
which doctors perform the surgery (there have been recent cases of 16 year old getting breast
implants). Furthermore, cosmetic surgery should be wholly private - the National Heath System should
not allocate public money for cosmetic surgery. |
| |
| |
| |
I personally think that people can do whatever they want to their appearance to make themselves
happy. Whether it is because they were burned or got in an accident or just don't want wrinkles,
someone shouldn't be told how to wear their skin because *THEY* are the ones who are in their own
skin. Maybe it will backfire when they are older... But it was, is, and will always be their own
choice. |

I don't think PS should be banned. Yes, some people get it for superficial reasons such as to look
younger or be thinner, but I think that is you look at the way it can HELP people, then it can be
considered as a good thing.
For instance, many women are VERY self-conscious about the way they look because the media gets them
down. I think if they go see a counselor or talk with someone who helps them to realize that they
are beautiful, they should be better, but if that doesn't work, plastic surgery can help them gain
confidence.
It can also help for medical reasons. I have seen stories on TV about people who had gotten hurt and
had their bodies warped, or they were born with different bodies than other people, and they were
shunned because of that. I think that PS can help them and make them so called 'normal.'
I do think that it should be done in moderation though. People CAN over do it for the wrong reasons. |
| |
| |
| |
If someone has something they want changed and they feel so badly about it, it actually affects
their day to day life i believe they have the right to change that if it is possible. |
| |
| |
| |
I don't believe in plastic surgery but what if your in a car accident and theat whats going to help
you have a face? |
| |
| |
| |
No, plastic surgery should not be banned. Like people have said, plastic surgery is very useful for
people who have suffered burns or had their face disfigured in an accident.
In terms of people having plastic surgery to change their looks, that is their choice. People cannot
be banned from spending their own money. Yes, plastic surgery can cause health risks, but so can
smoking and whilst smoking has been banned in pubs, it has not been banned completely. People still
choose to do it. Therefore, plastic surgery should not be banned. |
| |
| |
| |
It's easy to dismiss plastic surgery as a cosmetic, and therefore, trivial matter only. But the fact
is that physical appearance can have many real and tangible effects in life. Studies show that more
physically attractive people tend to get jobs and promotions more easily, and are actually perceived
by others as being more morally worthy. A person's satisfaction with their own appearance can also
have profound consequences for their sense of self-esteem.
I also believe, in general, that people should be allowed to do whatever they like as long as it
does no harm to others. So, for these reasons, I think plastic surgery should go on being legal. |
| |
| |
| |
If people want to add plastic to themselves, that's their own choice. We don't have the right to
outlaw a practice that is harmless to everybody, unlike cases that involve weapons and drugs. If
these people wish to change how God made them, it's their own choice.
And I may add, sometimes plastic surgery is done to cover up scars and bruises from events that
would rather be forgotten, like fires that took families and friends. |
| |
| |
| |
Plastic surgery is the one which changes the looks of someone. It is the process by which a person
gets the chance to improve their appearance which is a very much needful in today’s world. Often
it happens that a person loses his or her confidence of doing a work for not being confident about
their looks but soon after they regained certain level of appearance they became much a composite
person, calm and quite and off course secured about there abilities. Thus if with the help of
plastic surgery somebody gets a positive aspect in life then there is no harm in having a plastic
surgery done. Though it also includes a certain amount of money but that is not something beyond
reach. Thus plastic surgery should not be banned. |
| |
| |
| |
I think that if people are dumb enough to do it then let them. If they really want to then I don't
see the right in us invading in on their personal decisions. |
