Any dog has the potential to attack.
It is all down to the owners and the unfortunate thing is that many breeds are bought as status
symbols. |

Its not that they are vicious, its just that they have the strongest jaws, due to human interference
and selective breeding
i have one, and he is the biggest baby, he is the soppiest dog i have ever had.
Sleeps in my bed every night, and loves to be cuddled.
Like any dog, he has the potential to to do damage but so does a yorkie.
Its the owner that makes a dog, and the dogs that do cause damage are because of bad owners and
irresponsible owners, who leave them unattended with small children, |

American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and Staffordshire Bull Terriers...the
three BREEDS that are usually labled as "pitbulls" can be and are very good pets. Some can be dog
aggressive but most are not human aggressive...all breeds pass temperament testing at a rate of 85%
or higher on temperament evaluations (American Temperament Test Association).
No dog just "snaps" unless it has a brain tumor or some sort of medical condition that either
causes it pain or affects it's psychology. Pitbulls function by the same basic rules as any other
breed of dog, they show the same signs, same body language, same "warnings" (that are all too often
ignored and result in bites), and communicate with people and other dogs in the same way.
Yes these dogs can be dog aggressive...but most bully or mastiff type dogs have that potential.
Doesn't mean all dogs of those breeds ARE dog aggressive only that they have the POTENTIAL and
proper precautions should be taken like early socialization with people and other pets, professional
obedience training, never leaving them in a situation (ie. Running the streets, chained,
unsupervised with other dogs) where a dog fight even just "could" happen.
For the tiny minority...maybe the 1 percent of these dogs who bite there is another 99 percent who
are perfectly respectable members of society...and they are suffering for the crimes of humans
against their brothers. |

If you train a pit bull, from a puppy, yes, it will be as good a pet as any other dog. |

There aren't bad breeds. There are bad people. These dogs can be just as loving and trustworthy as
any other breed. |
