| Pit-bull Dogs Are Products Of Their Environment, Not 4-legged Spawns From Hell |
| With the recent state and federal magnification of pit bull attacks(provoked by their 2legged friends or not), many wonderful family pets are given the bad rap of being uncontrollable. Who should be on the leashes, the pits or the owners? |

Your mom.
Now all joking aside its more the environment they grow up in. I doubt that without human influence
they would be kind to other creatures at all, aka survival and hunting, but the ferocity these dogs
reach after they've been tortured by humans is just unnatural. They are fighting to survive they are
fighting because they are full of anger. But then again without humans they wouldn't be mans best
friend either as they would have to survive and wouldn't have the luxury of "free-survival". |

Pit bulls are a tricky breed in the best of circumstances. And all too often they are chosen by
owners who relish the worst parts of the pit-bull reputations. But that reputation is by no means
entirely undeserved. In my opinion only the most experienced of dog owners should even consider
raising a pit bull, particularly when children are involved. |

Sorry, still don't agree. There was a New England case just last year of a loved well treated pit
bull which literally attacked it's own female owner when she was in her bathroom. She wasn't doing
anything to it and hadn't in the past. And I know this is just one case, but it's no coincidence
that country wide stories of pit bull attacks keep popping up in the news everywhere. Do you mean
to tell me there is a complete epidemic if irresponsible or abusive pit bull owners? How is that
possible?
Look there are some animals which have wild or aggressive natures no matter what you do. You could
raise a Tiger with loving discipline and even a belief it grew up tame only to have its wild nature
come out and have it kill someone.
You know with major domesticated animals like cattle they're usually safe, but there's no guarantee,
and breeders for centuries keep crossing and choosing to pick the safest and meatiest cattle. If
their breeding produced a maniac cow hell bent on killing they'd stop breeding that kind of cow and
choose something else. Same is true for dogs, I'm not saying all dogs are bad, and I'm not saying
there is no time or place for pit bulls, I'm saying they have a checkered performance for a reason
and there are plenty of other breeds of dogs to pick from for a pet in an urban area. |
